Whats good with Rack Packs?

Has anybody bought jumbo rack packs before? I just ordered 6 online (Rookie Stars, Epix, Panini Threads 2 each all 2010). I got a pretty good deal on them but I was wondering if I have a legitimate shot at getting a hit or 2 from them. I figured its 240 cards so there has to be at least one but im unsure, what do you guys think?

You do have a shot at getting a hit, but I wouldn't count on it. I have received hits in them before though. Where did you order them from? They may have been searched before sold if you bought from somewhere like eBay or an unrepeatable dealer!

personally your alot better off buyng Hobby packs or boxes. you might get a ht though, just far better odds in hobby packs almost always.

The only rack packs I would try would be topps chrome. Im thinking bout ordering a rack pack box of it. I've seen at least one auto pulled in it plus a few numbered cards .. And the orange refractors.

I hit jeresy cards in epix & gridiron gear from 2010 so you have chances for hits.

i got them from a dealer on ebay that has almost 6500 postive rating so im not worried theyre searched, any suggestions on where to get hobby packs? i have literally zero good lcs's in my area for hours

Just because someone has 6500 positive feedback doesn't mean they aren't tampering with rack packs

Ask yourself - why would someone sell rack packs on ebay? The seller has to make a profit. So if you're getting them at the same price as retail, Id be willing to bet that they are searched. Simply because a seller wouldn't just buy packs, and then resell them for the same exact price, unless they were already searched.

Also, rack packs in general aren't going to yield anything that significant 99% of the time. Topps Chrome is really the only good rack pack, since its a non hit focused set.

As far as buying hobby packs, Google does wonders ;)

Im not sure blowout sells hobby packs, but if they do, just buy em there, since blowout often has the best prices.

Just a personal opinion (redundant much?) - Id buy hobby boxes over hobby packs.

Bought some rack packs on ebay from a guy who had a ton of positive ratings. Packs came and they were clearly searched through..most of the cards were pretty damaged as well so i wouldnt recommend it.

I sell packs on ebay and online. Sometimes I find really good deals and can flip the wax. At the Dollar General they had single packs on clearance for .20 a pack. I sold them as a lot and made 500% profit, lol. I also sold [2010 Panini wax w/ possible Jeremy lin] because the pack cost me 2.98 but they were selling for 10.

I also sold a hobby box. I never, ever, searched em [dunno how in the 1st place w/o ruining the product] so not everyone ought there is trying to rip folks off.

That said, I agree with it's better to err on the side of caution and buy from BO or a respected dealer.

How about the Panini Prestige basketball rack packs that could be found at $1.50 a pack by the box and retail is $7.99? Id take a 500% profit. You can buy Donruss Hockey rack packs by the box for $1.75 and retail is $5-8.

I said if retail price = resell price. Which is 95% of the cases. Prestige was a rare exception

so i just got them in, hits werent spectacular but i got an arrelious benn jersey /499, ndamukong suh jersey /299, and a sean witherspoon auto /499 all rookies. nothing breathtaking but hits nonetheless :)!
