Someone just told me I made a mistake deciding to get a 12 box case of totally certified over buying two cases of leaf metal draft. Of the 2 products which do you think is the better purchase?

Depends on what draft class your interested in but Leaf Metal will have a much better re-sell value until Press Pass releases.
I personally don't buy any Panini products until the MAPP pricing comes off 30days later and boxes are immediately %20-%30 cheaper.

Leaf Draft's resale value is falling fast.
Out of the 2, Totally Certified.

I would do Leaf only because there will be a spike in value for the cards around the Draft, once a lot of the low-mid end players have teams they are associated with. Right now a player like Dan Herron of Ohio State is barely a $10 auto, but if he gets drafted by say the Jets, he is going to be a $16-18 auto when team collectors get in the market
it depends on if you want a quick flip or are willing to hold for a month
Totally Certified has a really SMALL window of resale with National Treasures, Prime Signatures, Playbook all coming in the next few weeks

Good point. That was a deciding factor to me. The 2011 draft class imo is going to go down in history as a class like the 1983 class when its said and done. The league hasn't seen the huge influx of quality qbs in a long time. The rbs in this class are going to be special and the wrs in this class will dominate the game. Choosing between the two classes my answer was clear. I personally only see a few playmakers in the 2012 class and think its much weaker then 2011. I think its going to be like the 2010 class.

By that time press pass will be out as well as upper deck and topps. Why would the lowest end products spike like your saying when they don't have a grip on the market alone?

Not interested in a quick flip. I will sell some of course but this wasn't about making money. If I wanted to make money I would buy singles. Busting wax is always a gamble no matter the product. Looking long term and I believe leaf draft in 3 months is 1 fourth the price its going for now. Certified I doubt that to be the case at all

Why wuld this thinking only apply to one of the products and not both?

It seems like you already have your mind made up.
As for the bolded, are you referring to the price of singles or sealed boxes? I'll buy $18 boxes of Leaf all day long.

Yes my money has been spent and I am convicted about my decision. I made this post after someone said I made the wrong decision and would regret it. So I thought I would ask you all, where would you have put your money?

Singles...last year Cam Newton Leaf was over $200 when it released. When I pulled one in October I couldn't get $60 for it. There is no reason to not believe that the shelf life on Leaf cards is in weeks, not months or years

Truthfully I'd pass on both. I think Totally Certified looks pretty lame and RC/Autos will most likely be far less desireable than established brands link NT, Contenders, Chrome etc. Especially in the long run. Metal will be a bust and sell quick mentality to be worth it. Won't hold long-term value...possibly not even short-term after the next cards release. Especially NFL licensed products. My 2 cents.

Agreed with this man, on every point.
