Top of the 9th Zimmerman grounded into a force out he's 0 for 3 with 2 walks.

Nothing lasts forever, he might as well get it over with now...it was a nice streak but not even close to the record.

Still a longer hitting streak than Wade Boggs, Tony Gwynn, or Ted Williams ever had (thanks to MLB network for that tidbit of info). Just goes to show you how unbreakable DiMaggio's record is. But 30 games is outstanding.

They intentionally walked him earlier in the game, I knew someone would do that to stop it, stupid if you ask me...

yeah, they walked a guy hitting .350 to pitch to a guy hitting below .200. i'm sure they did it just to stop the streak....

He had 5 plate appearances, only one of which was an intentional walk. Its not like thats what stopped the streak. How many intentional walks do you think DiMaggio saw in his streak? Plenty. Still a great accomplishment for Zimmerman. 30 games is something very few ever get to.

Its a heck of a streak to have starting the season. Typically dont start seeing the streaks for another month or so.
