Okay, quick hobby talk then we can get back to bashing each other's teams...

We should be cracking some 06-07 stuff for fun here guys;

Malkin- establishing himself as the elite player in the NHL, period.
Weber- second most feared slapshot in hockey
Radulov- back after a siesta in the KHL and new team next year
Zajac- finally back for the Devils after missing 37 games, like a key deadline acquisition for the Devils

Long thought dead, 06-07 could be a better break year now.

I think Weber and Zajac are a stretch.

Radulov is interesting because it's entirely possible that he goes back to the KHL next year. I see people trying to grab his cards now and flip them during the playoffs, although prices might not be too great since I suspect that people who collected him before he left the NHL the first time will be looking to cash in now, which would lead to a bit of a glut in the market.

The issue with Malkin is he's a legit superstar, but he's overshadowed by Crosby and his cards already are priced pretty high. It will take a lot to see prices spike up again.

The guys who I see that are already are priced high but might creep even higher prior to next season are Stamkos (snipers always will do better than assists guys) and Tavares (still a big following in Canada). Giroux's cards a criminally undervalued, but I think he needs to win a scoring title or a Cup to see his prices go to levels like those of the others superstars.

Weber will rise when the Red Wings pick him up in FA next summer after Lidstrom retires. Zajac I kinda agree with the second poster that it is a stretch. But where, O Rinkwraith, are we to find any 06/07 product? Doesn't look like BOC has any except for 06/07 Fleer Ultra which will have a bunch of expired redemptions.

Zajac was my personal jab at the other team guys here, but I do like getting him back before the playoffs.

Squatch, keep walking through the woods until you hit Malkin's hometown. Thinking of grabbing some of those SPX boxes at 64 personally.

Kessel- breakout player of the year
Stastny- still a chance to be a stud
Erikkson- if he were in NY or Chicago he'd be a star
Stafford- could be a good one in Buffalo
Booth- eventually could be a point per game player

He was def on the Pens via the Russian league a year before Crosby (who was 05-06), but it looks like his Upper Deck RC's are 06-07

Chosen second overall in the 2004 NHL Entry Draft by the Pittsburgh Penguins, Malkin's career in the NHL was delayed because of an international transfer dispute until 2006–07, in which he captured the Calder Memorial Trophy as the league's best rookie.

Malkin was one of those players who defected while his team was playing in Canada.
