What if UD goes under?

With lawsuits and such how will this affect the prices on the cup?
Will we be left with just panini? Will first year panini which you can pick up for 269 a box skyrocket in value with no other high end competition?

I think the cup stuff will become more valuable.

There's enough of it out there so that people will not forget about it.

Panini will never skyrocket - I will just collect UD hockey singles.

Though going forward, Panini rookies for future draft picks can still go well if they are the only game in town.

Then god help us all. If UD goes under (unless Topps joins the game) we'll be stuck with panini. And seeing what theyve done with the exclusive basketball rights (which is nothing) I don't think it'll turn out well for us.

I can see 5 star hockey as an alternative. Still, the cup is the best in my book. I'd imagine a decent jump on cup cards when they go under.

I hope you're right, cause cup is the only hockey product I get a decent return on for my investment. I took a bath on dominion, got maybe 28% of what I spent on a case and a half. Didn't get a single decent patch.
Plus I'm still waiting on a dozen Marcus Johansson rookie redemptions and some pechurskiy rookie redemptions too

Upper Deck 1 is a double my money and then some every year. Upper Deck 2 is usually good for 35-40% return.

yup, look at what happened to exquisite basketball. I think Gretzky is a UD exclusive? if so, all the gretzky cup cards will skyrocket (especially the rarer ones and patch autos), like what happened to MJ exquisites. as Gretzky is retired there is only a fixed amount of his game used JSY's...those will dry up and are probably already scarce, pushing up all his GU, especially patch/patch auto cards (again, drawing the parallel to MJ)...

Lets pray it would be ITG because we know Panini would do nothing but destroy the products and beat up their customers.
