No way you would have had any idea... If Phil and his wife found out more than a week ago, I'd be shocked since he played on May 10 in the Players Championship. Believe me...the day he found out, ALL future golf was put on hold.

Could have been a routine exam, or a check-up because something unusual was found. The key is the stage of the cancer, which also indicates potential for metastisizing to other parts of the body.

Anyway, my prayers go out to their family and hope it is confined and treatable by surgery - my mom passed away from breast cancer 8 years ago. With 3 children under 10 years old, the worst-case scenarios break my heart.

I just saw that too. My thoughts and prayers will be for Amy and the family throughout this ordeal. It shows a lot about Phil and his devotion to his wife. He is going to be by her side throughout, and golf will still be there when he decides to return.
