Walking Dead Dilemma: To Bust Or Not To Bust

Aside from not hitting on the $640 million mega millions last week I have been having a great string of luck in regards to this hobby. I opened one box of Galaxy 7 and pulled a sketchagraph that I sold for $340. Now today I went to the LCS to grab some supplies and saw the had a unopened box of Walking Dead for $125 plus 11 packs at $5 each. Needless to say I purchased all of it.

Now here is the dilemma. I plan on flipping the box as that will net me $100 give or take. I bought the packs with the intent of opening them all but I'm thinking I should sell the other 10 in 5 pack lots and make some money on top of selling what I hit from the first pack I opened. :eek:

Yes. I haven't opened the other 10. I just saw that card and stopped.

Also, before anyone says anything, that white line that looks like a crack was a dog hair on top of the case.

It's a catch 22.

You want the Rick badge... but you want to make money. I opened the packs I just found... hoping to find more too. It's ridiculous but fun at the same time. I ended up pulling 1 auto and 2 relics out of 6 packs and it was well worth it. So you never know!

The collector in me told me to open the packs since I wanted to build the set. I hit nothing significant in the other 10 packs. Now how has extra base cards they are willing to sell??

Just open the box. You could make $100 profit, on the box itself. BUT you would have more fun opening the box, and possibly pulling the Rick patch which would sell for $10,000 lol. Yes I'm the little devil on your shoulder, the rest of these guys can be the angel.

Rules i live by: Buy it, open it, enjoy it, and repeat :)

I would say if you had 5+ boxes and could make a few hundred, I would sell. With 1 box, you might make $60. Is that really worth the time to list, sell, wait for payment, ship and hope there is no buyer's remorse?

On the other hand, if you hit a patch redemption....that's $700 like now (I would pay you $725). These boxes are drying up and 10 redemptions are still unaccounted for.

I say break it, what's going to happen when the buyer emails you and says "Thanks for the Patch!". You'll be sick.
