Would anyone know why this BGS auto got a 9?

I did some research on "10" autos on ebay and I still can't distinguish the differences. Would it be the "streaky" 'A'?

Also, would I need atleast 2 bumps in the subgrades to make this a BGS 9.5?

Yes, you need 2 bumps. 3 9.5s and a 9 would make it a 9.5

I think that Beckett has changed their grading standards on autographs over the past couple years. They used to give everything that wasn't cut off a 10 and I think they finally started to look at streaks and gaps a bit closer. Your auto is just about as clean as mine below...

+1. I think they are actually looking more closely at the aesthetics of the auto as well as the completeness (not running off card or sticker).

that auto is a 10, and looks just as good as the bgs 9/10 of tommy's IMO

crack and resubmit...take a cloth like microfiber and clean that surface to get the grade up :)

it really seems like beckett is cracking down on their auto grades...prior too they gave out 10's like it was candy, but to answer your question it got a 9 due to the streak of the A
