During the season I was hoping I could pick up his cards for cheap. Turns out everybody thought the same and his card slowing went up in value. Yeah I think he has a good shot at becoming the starter and will be at least decent next year. But his cards are already the second highest of the 2011 class. Trailing only Cam and even higher then Andy Dalton. A rookie pro bowler who could of won rookie of the year for most of the past years with his numbers. He is even higher then AJ Green, Demarco Murray and Julio Jones who all had pro bowl numbers or went to the pro bowl. So my question is how good does he have to be to go up even more? and how fast will he drop if he has a bad game?

I think that the key for Jake would be to get into the starting lineup. Once he does that he of course has to play well. By well I mean he has to avoid laying an egg out there and give his team a reasonable chance to win every weak. He has a reasonably good team with some nice weapons around him offensively. And one of the more positive things that he has to look forward to is that the guy in front of him is getting older and people are going to be wanting him to play more including the owner, because he is paying him a lot of money. Another good thing for Jake Locker and the Titans is that the Colts no longer have a strangle hold on the division, there by making it more competitive. I think in order for his card to rise in value I think he would have to be the starting quarterback and avoid sustaining a season ending injury and orchestrate a playoff type run for the Titans. Somewhere around the 9-7 10-6 range. I think it imperative that he avoid throwing more Int's than TD's and then I think that his cards will get more than a fair value.

Hes a QB..plain and simple. Thats why his cards are higher than the others you mentioned.

Hell even Ryan Mallett had high card prices at one point (many are still higher than some names you mentioned).

Im not sure if hell be the starter this year, unless Hasselbeck or the Titans as a whole start slow.

But he did show a lot of promise when he did get to play, andi think hes the real deal at QB.

I completely understand what you are saying about being a QB but how is he higher then Andy Dalton. Dalton did awesome and better then expected. Locker did not do squat compared to Dalton. I know alot has to do with popularity but he should not be higher the Dalton right now.

Well there are a few factors.

Locker was a HIGH 1st round pick..8th overall. He also came from a big college, so might be plenty of them/college collectors drivng prices (yes i know Washington isnt a powerhouse, but it is also called QB U). Also the Titans seem to ahve more of a market for their players (CJ, Britt, Locker etc).

Pretty much everything the opposite of Dalton.

Round #2 pick...TCU has comeon strong the past few years, but doesnt really have a following or track record for NFL players outside of LT...and the Cinci market doesnt seem great.

AJ is doing fairly well market wise due to same as Locker..high 1st round pick..solid NCAA school (UGA) etc..
