Speculation Time: What will Darvish / Cespedes Base Chromes be worth?

Just curious to see what most people think about the starting prices / the prices at which they will settle. Here's my projection:

FIRST Darvish / Cespedes Base Chrome to end via Ebay Auction:

$35 / $10

3 days after release:
$15 / $5

Resting prices:

$10 / $3



Cespedes isn't exactly "tearing it up" but he's still putting together a solid season. Let me know what you think!:D

Will there be any base chromes? All I'm seeing from the prospect list is that there will be rookie cards of both, which are paper. They're not in the prospect checklist.

I think he's referring to their chromes from 2009 Bowman, Bowman Chrome, and Bowman Draft. They are featured as World Baseball Classic parallels.

"First" chromes would have ended years ago in that case. Pretty sure he's referring to Bowman '12.

Nah, pretty clear he's refering to 2012. Since he talks about release date, 3 days after, etc. Unless he found a time machine. Actually, thinking about these prices makes me upset they didn't include chromes, as it would be an easy money maker, especially on Darvish, for case breakers.

they both do already have chrome cards... and they aren't prospects ... so their rc chromes will be in 2012 bowman chrome...

This. Topps has no problem printing up 4 different chrome Harpers, but apparently there will be no chrome prospect cards of Yu and Cespedes in their mlb unis.

Oh, you mean like Lawrie wasn't when 2011 chrome came out and he had already played a couple months in the majors? Or how they released Hosmer and Ackley prospect autos after they both had spend the better part of last season in the majors?

I really just haven't been paying that much attention, and while it actually makes sense they don't have chromes, I was expecting Topps to play up the chrome angle for the set. They definitely did so for 2011 Bowman Chrome with Ackley & Hosmer autos. Oh well... glad I didn't buy any chrome sets off Ebay :)

and harper has four now. I think it makes sense to have chromes in their mlb unis.

Point is, Topps does what they want. They don't have any hard and fast rule, and have no qualms about printing multiple "1st" chrome cards for many players. In light of that, not sure why they passed up this opportunity.

Darvish will have a chrome auto and Cespedes will have a paper auto in Bowman

Darvish will have both Chrome and Paper autos in 2012 Bowman. Cespedes will only have paper autos.
When Bowman Chrome is released, they will both have Chrome rookie cards.
They will only have paper rc cards in this coming release of bowman.
Cespedes' autos will not have any parallels. Darvish's Chrome autos will have the same parallels as all chrome autos do.
