I would if I ever post an auction of a person the same day they die. The OP is an amazing artist and I love the sketch, but what appears to be trying to profit off of Seau's death is in poor taste.

The sketch isn't bad, but did you look at all the other sketches?

What would he donate it to? Let's see, donate it to cancer research? That won't work since he didn't die of Cancer. How about heart disease? Wait, he didn't die from that either.

He could donate it to the "My dad's a selfish a-hole who killed himself" Charity.

You ever stop and think about the mental stability of the man? There's research linking head trauma especially in NFL veterans and the judgment needs to seriously stop. You can't act like you know what mental state he was in any more than I can so why jump to the conclusion?

From what I've read about (including another NFL player who killed himself last year) these guys aren't in the right state of mind and it's not like they are being entirely rational about this.

It's a tragedy... and nothing more than that... his family is surely hurt and will never be able to get over this. I'm more worried about them than what happened... but some serious research needs to be put into the study of mental stability in former NFL players moving forward.

He was mentally stable enough to text his kids and ex-wife "I love You" the day before he killed himself. I feel bad for his family and what they have to deal with. But in no way do it feel bad for Seau himself.

I don't know what its like to feel bad enough about myself to want to end my own life. But clearly he had family around him that cared about him.

Two NFL players that I know of have killed themselves (Seau, Duerson). Why aren't all of the other linebackers who played football jumping off bridges or shooting themselves?

Ray Easterling killed himself and Terrell Owens also had two separate instances of trying to overdose.

There's no way for you to be able to tell me what was going through Seau's mind... like I said before I can't positively state either what lead him to do what he did... but players have sued the NFL for issues related to concussions and head trauma. Easterling developed dementia and you can't tell me that he knew what he was doing.

There's no laundry list here like there was with steroid use in professional wrestling sure... but not every single NFL player sustains a concussion either.

The national average is 11 suicides per 100,000 people. The NFL has had 3 suicides (duerson, Seau, Easterling) that I have been made aware of. There have been over 22,000 NFL players. So its roughly 13 suicides per 100,000 NFL players. Not much higher than the national average.

Cross reference your number with the amount of players that sustained concussions in the NFL.

Let's not forget about the Chris Benoit incident, either.

Well my national number had nothing to do with concussions. It says that the national avg is 11 suicides per 100,000. So if you take a group of NFL players (22,000 over time), and there are 3 suicides, that is pretty much on par with the national average. It's not a huge, alarming number based on the sample size.

It's no secret you have to be messed up in the head to kill yourself. But getting a concussion doesn't mean you will suddenly have the urge to kill yourself.
