Hi Guys,

I'm thinking about bidding on this awesome looking Jordan Patch/Auto but want to make sure its legit. Thoughts?

Michael jordan 03/04 exquisite bulls eye patch auto | eBay (http://www.ebay.com/itm/Michael-jordan-03-04-exquisite-bulls-eye-patch-auto-/230785194228?pt=US_Basketball&hash=item35bbde98f4#ht_500wt_1237)

Not sure whether it is real or fake. I suppose my gut would say fake, but that is just purely a guess based on others I've seen.

Also, what a terrible bunch of pictures + it was listed using the eBay Android app? You would think he'd put a little more time and effort into it :confused:

i dont see any damage around the patch window and would be curious as to why someone would fake this type of card.

looks fake. notice the damage to the patch window in the second picture but how seller crops it just below the border in the first picture. the see how they strategically include a blurry full shot where you cant see the damage as the fourth image.

if the patch was legit the seller wouldve had super highres images for the item!

haha, that is def not authentic.

he makes the pics blurry on purpose, but you can still see the two thin slits in the "E" are bent, especially the top one, from when they took out the old patch and put in the new one...

I dont know if it is fake, but if it is why the hell would someone ruin such a nice card hoping for a few extra bucks?

I don't see the word "Prime" anywhere....

That's one of the many reasons I like Panini.

I would stay far away from that.

if that was an authentic bull's head logo and verifiable....it would would double in price at least (and that is not from $100 to $200....that is from $3k-$4k to $6k-$8k++), as it would essentially be a 1/1 given none of the other cards in that series have a logo patch

Yeah I've only seen letter patches and piping from that set, why would a perfectly positioned Bulls head suddenly be discovered when every single other one just has a regular patch. Did the jersey that they used have Bulls logos on it anyway?
I'd say that's fake, but when people are bidding over $4000 on an almost certainly fake 97-98 game jersey with partial logoman, stupid people throw money at anything - which is why people continue to fake patches.

HOw much did it sell for in 2007?

Yea crazy that someone would fake the patch of a 03/04 jordan exquisite, but it was probably a plain white patch and fetch easily $1k more now with the suspicious bulls head. And after changing hands couple times, no one will know who actually faked it and many collectors won't care.

Potentially, yes.

There was one just like this but of Rodman at the National in Chicago. Everybody was drooling all over it, but it was so fake. Just goes to show that most people will believe anything.

Edit: I take that back. It was this Jordan that was at the National that everyone was drooling over. The seller's description states that it was showcased at the National...lol

They can pretend to drool all they want... but do you see them buying it? lol

I think most people will just go along with the wave, even though they know it's fake as hell.

There were fake Rodman and Amare LLs but most people knew about those...

Sorry to hijack this thread but dont wanna start the whole new topic on similar issue. Are these Rose fake?

I had debated myself a lot when two of these exact cards hit the eBay before Rose became MVP. These two cards were quite cheap back then but Im not sure about the patch. If they are real, I missed great chances to get nice PC cards for cheap.

one or both is def fake bro...look how different the material looks on each of those bull heads...also look at the outside border directly above the bull's forehead/brow ridges (those tic tac toe lookin' lines)...on one the border is real thick, the other is real thin

lastly, one is from a red JSY and one is a white JSY, but they are cut out in a way to look like they both came form the same patch...even if that is just coincidence and they were not to made to look like they came from the same patch, the Bull head texture and stitching should be identical on both cards...

What did the material look like on the bulls head rose rc /99? that can solve the problem as to what the bulls logo should look like!

to me? neither, lol. closer to the player box, but above the thick border is the outer sliver of the logo patch which that does not have, or at least I don't think

The 08/09 cards were made with authentic Bulls jerseys, and the 09/10 Exquisite is supposed to be game worn...I have a game worn jersey of Rose from the 09/10 season and the 09/10 Exquisite is DEFINITELY a fake patch...the 08/09 player box appears to be legit.

I believe that is real as I remember when those first came out there were numerous patchs that looks very similar. But again with so many fakes I could be wrong.

UD and Panini should really consider taking out the time to display images of all their #'d GU/Auto'd cards and display the data on their website for verification purposes.

This tampered card has floated around since the year the set was released. Then, the card sold for under $700. Today, this tampered card will realize much more value.

The Amare and Rodman have taken advantage of numerous people. Somewhere along the way they were encased as 'Authentic' by BGS and potential buyers read this to mean they authenticated the patch as original, when in fact they do/did not.

thanks for sending the article.

This:
Consumers often say that we should just take pictures of all the patch cards before they go out, but that is not a foolproof method. We offer replacements for trading cards in the event of factory damages as a service to our customers and many collectors take advantage of it. Cards are replaced with a new version that has a different patch.

How is this not foolproof? They still display the image of the replacement card and list the damaged card as destroyed.

Plus i've sent in numerous things to UD and anything serially numbered would either A) come back as a different machine stamped # or B) Hand written with a sharpie to replace my damaged stamped card.

Wow, no wonder there are so many criminals in the world. There are even more IDIOTS!

The amazement of so many people who don't research and verify before dropping $1,000+ on a piece of cardboard.

I just hope it went to an investor who think he's going to flip for 10k, instead of a collector who saved up $$$ for something like this. (Although, with shilling and manipulation that 'investor' can still flip until the card goes over 100k! :( )

75% of these cards are pulled. Its the norm with exquisite jordans.

I have to say, i have busted a bunch of 09-10 exquisite and have pulled some pretty sweet patch autos. Also, even though there are fake patches, i can totally see why a person would think its real, as well as fake. There are always sick patches in exquisite, but to a novice who's looking to make a statement with a sick exquisite card for there pc, a card like that would make a statement in there eyes.. This is where the knowledgeable members of blowout and this forum can essentially SAVE a person's collection and bank acoount.
