So many awesome cards up for auction right now but I'm not trying to pay the playoff premium prices. Anybody else waiting? It's definitely a battle!
in a perfect world id do all football during basektball season and collect all basketball during football season.
but then again, that wouldnt be much fun i guess? it's so easy to see price patterns and wonder why anyone would pay the premiums for cards that will surely come down in price due to natural fluctuation.
what's not easy? avoiding being one of those buyers. basketball is just too much fun to collect/buy/trade right now.

I have a VERY large amount of mid-high end cards that I'll be slowly listing over the next month or two. Not really for any playoff benefits, just the timing of needing to sell them haha.
I hope nobody avoids looking on purpose, they'll miss out on some great never-seen before cards!

I keep trying to not buy anything, but then I ALWAYS see something I have to have and break down and buy it.

I did reasonably well last offseason, but now that I'm not really into the hobby anymore I probably won't do anything. Definitely worth having some money aside for good purchases, if you want to make a profit. However if you actually need or really like a card up now that you probably won't see again, you probably need to go for it! :)

Do all bball cards get a lift around this time or is it only guys playing in the post-season? For instance, if I wanted Demarcus Cousins stuff, will it be significantly cheaper in a month or two than it is now?

sorry, I wasn't necessarily referring to Cousins, I just meant anybody that's on a non-playoff team...

I think they all do. Wonder how much of an effect the olympics will have on prices, if any at all?

I've said it before... card collectors are collectors year round!
Me personally, if I want a $500 card, doesn't matter if it's the off-season or not... or whatever the price of a card.
I would imagine cards would go for more in the off-season cause many think people go on vacation from cards during those times haha

wait for the off season for players who are playing in the playoffs. Like Durant. He will be cheaper off season. I think players that are not in the playoffs arent active anyways

Deals can be had anytime of the year for all sports. You just have to know where to find them.
