I'm still kicking myself for giving you that Westbrook for so little in value >.<
Nice grades nonetheless! I'm happy for you :)
Isn't that Westbrook is in the case wrong? Shouldn't the 9.5 gold label should be on the right side?

IMO it just proves that different graders have different opinions...I knew this card was a 9.5.

I completely agree. Beckett is an absolute joke.
I also am not a fan of people who do this 'resubmit until 9.5' crap ... it's grimy. I know theres a ton of fools out there who die over these gold labels (why a human-applied, subjective grade is so coveted to some guys boggles my mind. I guess it's the case of those who have to have the 'best of the best'!:rolleyes:)
Resubmitting a card continually until it gets the magic coveted gold label then selling the card for a premium even though the grade is obviously illegitimate is pretty sad. People who do this, and BGS are both pretty sad.

Agreed. I think BGS (AND PSA) should develop a slab that would cause a minor amount of damage to the card in the event that it is broken free from the holder. This way, the only people who would break them would be those who truly wanted the card and did not care about the slab.
Beckett does not appear to care about the practice, since multiple submissions = more cash lining their pockets. If I grade a card and it comes back an 8.5, i'm going to sell it as an 8.5. That's part of the risk. Not every card is made perfect.

guys, its graded 9.5 for a reason.

what makes me laugh to this day is those who get all whatever over subgrades lol. A 9.5 is a 9.5 rather it has three 9.5s and a 9, or 3 10s and a 9, the 9.5 at the top right of the case does not change any. They should of never did subgrades

guys, its graded 9.5 for a reason.
Ya because the THIRD grader was probably thinking about getting Thai food for dinner instead of actually grading the card.
They should track these things and when they see that 2 of the feces throwing chimps graded it a 9 it should never get a 9.5

guys, it was raw review, it wasnt slabbed, so once they took a more in depth look at it for actual slabbing, they realized it was a 9.5, which it was all along.

Nice....How much to re-case a graded card cost?
darscards35kd
05-06-2012, 03:26 PM
Pretty sure they didnt charge me any extra to recase it since I was submitting stuff all weekend. They usually have nice specials at shows.
Thanks guys

lighting at shows also has alot to do with it. Sometimes poor lighting can lead to a 9

wow they do full slabbing at tristar?
darscards35kd
05-06-2012, 03:49 PM
No, they raw reviewed these at the show, which was April 13-15. Did the 10 day service, so got them yesterday.

Maybe the guy who gave it a 9 was having a bad day. It can go both ways. Grading is done by humans, so there is always a chance for human error. If you buy and sell graded cards, this is a fact you must accept.
No one says beckett or psa is perfect. People just love to point out everytime they make a mistake. I would love to watch some people on here do their jobs and post on a message board every time you make a mistake.
