These unnumbered go for close to 3k, this one numbered to 100, his jersey number only went for $2,200? I'm dying inside right now that I didn't have $2,500 to spend...Am I missing something here? This is a holy grail caliber card!

Why didn't the guy get more ambitious and go for 1/1? So none of these are #/100?

They are all numbered to my knowledge and the lower numbers use "01" "02" "03" etc.

I think this card is legit, but you have to winder why it was graded authentic only. Might be something hiding on the card from a damage perspetive, plus Wilt's signature looks a little faded.

Still this is a good deal for this card. (If paying 2K+ is ever a good deal).

Why did the auto fade over time but the numbering stayed blue like it was signed yesterday? If one would fade you would have to think the other would fade as well.

Fake numbering

it might be fake numbering but the card is out of 100 b/c of the gold background, so really no reason why it should have gone for $2000.

yeah the faded auto but bright numbering does raise suspicions.
maybe it could be because wilt signed with a different pen and the numbering was done with a better marker? idk.

All of the ones I have seen have faded equally and whatever marker the player signed in is the same pen they number the cards with.

It just so happens that this odd looking one is his jersey number too (13). I think many people thought it was fake and that is why the ending price was a bit on the low side.

Looks like a replacement copy that was in the warehouse and was numbered later. Whether it was a back-door deal or a replacement of his jersey number, it throws up a red flag in today's age of rampant faking.

No, it looks like this was a product of Kevin Burge. Who also did this with the 99 A piece of the history 500 club bat autos of Ted Williams (9/9), Killebrew (3/3), Willie Mays (24/24).

Swiping and renumbering was big business for him. Glad not many fell for the above cards. He ruined all of those tho, its a damn shame.
