Upper Deck just revealed the look of new Sp Authentic and the main card they show is a Wieters auto rookie. Does this just prove that UD and Razor are together?

He was never a Razor Exclusive though if I'm not mistaken.

That "memo" that was made public a month or so back, talking about the alleged relationship between Razor and UD, seemed to indicate that if a player signed the MLBPA licensing agreement, that it would effectively make any prior "exclusive" deal null and void. Essentially, a player can't be part of the MLBPA and restrict how any MLBPA licensed companies can use their likeness. I think they could choose to not sign a MLBPA agreement and try to sell their own licensing agreement to companies, as Barry Bonds tried to do in (I think) 2005. Anyway, not sure about any of this but if Weiters is now part of the MLBPA, he might be allowed to be in anything.

When Razor first announced it was signing exclusives, the agreement had stated the exclusivity ended as soon as they were called up to play in a major league game. At that point they are free game for any of the companies to use. The "exclusiveness" only pertains to unliscensed minor league products.

Look at the 2009 SPX Sell sheet, it shows a Jeter Auto Jersey and the cards not even in the set, in fact none of the cards on the sell sheet are actually in the sheet. So I would doubt the cards in there, just used to help sell product. I called UD on it and they said that some cards just dont make it into the product and the product sheets are usted to give an idea of what the cards will look like.

I cannot say whether or not Wieters will be in the product or not, but I do agree that they could make the product look better than it really may be using the sell sheet.

Ummm...Weiters will be in the product...why would he not be?? He's probably the biggest draw in the product.
If they took the time to write out an article you better believe he'll be in there. I'm sure they didn't write out an article about the Jeter dual on the SPX sell sheet.
His old razor contract stated that once he was in MLB that contract was void and he was subject to MLBPA rules from what I understand. Once with the MLBPA he CAN sign an exclusive for memorabilia and auto cards with a company, just like Ryan howard and A-Rod have with Topps and Jeter and Griffey do with UD...on the other hand, anybody can make a base RC of him tho...

That is only for cards, not autographed cards. His deal with Razor, aka Upper Deck, was for one year beyond his playing in a Major League game for his autograph. Any companies wanting to use his autograph had to negotiate with Razor to do so.
