$600 CP3 Emerald Choice Award 3/3 MISSING!

So the quick of this is, I sold the card to this eBay member nearly a month ago. We agreed that I would ship via Express mail.

In a flurry of confusion, this package got mixed up with my 'regular airmail' packages upon shipping. It went out via regular airmail, without any insurance or tracking.

So I did contact the buyer to let him know the situation.

But as expected, he opened a case and it closed a few days ago in his favor, $600 being deposited back into his account.

So now I'm down the $600 and the card is in limbo...I guess?


In 15+ years on eBay, I don't think I've had more than 5 items, out of thousands and thousands, go missing being shipped via regular USPS airmail.

So I do know he WILL arrive.

I asked that he kindly let me know when he does eventually receive. But my instincts tell me, he wont.

It's not every day in this sort of hobby that you find someone in a different country, especially Taiwan (from my past experiences) that is willing to make good on a $600 transaction where they can weasel the $600 and the item in their pocket.






I know I know, MY BAD!

But I was hoping to throw this thread up in hopes that the card may at least turn up somewhere. I am almost 100% certain the card will eventually arrive at it's destination, but at that point, it's up to the genuineness of the buyer to make good.

You should not have told him it went out by regular mail. That just rings "sweet I never got and you cant prove I didnt".

even if he didn't tell him, they agreed to ship via express mail. Something would smell pretty fishy if it was shipped express and receive nothing for almost a month.

I had a time where i sold like a pippen auto for like $120 and there was no trackign to indonesia. THe guy didn't receive it for like a month and he opened the case against me. I was pretty sure he was just pulling a fast one but then later he closed the case and informed me he received it, and it was just delayed at the post office custom. So hopefully your story has a happy ending too.

Jay, he asked for a tracking number, and I couldn't provide one. We both agreed on Express.

So now from his side, he is thinking I didn't send at all. I'm sure he is very pessimistic on the whole situation

I try to avoid shipping internationally. The chances of something going wrong is too high.

blastman: I know what you mean. Most sellers don't ship, or they only will ship $30 Express. I like to give everyone an equal chance, since it is an open marketplace across the globe. But sometimes, such as in this scenerio, it comes back to bite me!

I've had this same situation in the past and it did wind up showing up. My JR Smith 04/05 Finest Superfractor Autos were both stolen by kuvenile in Australia. Even though they showed up 6 months had passed and he pretended he still did not have them.

Unless I am reading this wrong the OP made a mistake, not the PO. I will be shocked if buyer sends the $$ if he receives the card. That is if he does not already have it.

man, that sucks. if the buyer had any morals he'd repay once the card 'does' arrive. me personally, i print out all my shipping labels and anything high dollar get the insurance/sig confirmation treatment. all others get standard delivery confirmation. hopefully it all works out for you.

To the US:
Regular mail = $3.15
small parcel (Non letter) = $7.45 (declare customs)
Large parcel (Non Letter) = $27.50

Xpress Post Signature delivery (Letter only) = $23
Xpress Post Signature delivery (non Letter parcel size) = $42

Purolator Courier Sig delivery overseas = $72 to $103.

If you send registered mail with sig, itll take like 4 to 6 week minimum to get there and the buyer will file a claim anyways = $17

Can you explain this "flurry of confusion"? Not exactly sure how you can forget to mail a $600 card express mail. For your sake, hopefully he gets it and pays you. I just don't get how you can accidentally mail it regular mail when you have to put it in an express envelope.

crazymj: It's crazy, I offer international S&H and it's driving me out of business! International buyers complain and leave low DSRs now, and the postal rates have GONE WAY UP for international S&H!

jr24ai3: Well, I ship out many items per week. I didn't put this in an Express mailers because I didn't have any, and was actually planning to pick some up at the post office that trip. I had it separated distinctly, but in the rush at the post office, with a line and rushing after work ... it got mixed up. I hope he gets it and pays me, but I highly doubt he will come through. I usually have all my Express/registered already packed and ready to go...but this time it was just a coincidence that I didn't have any Express mailers left! :(

My response started with sorry. I'm sorry I didn't sugar coat it for you.

My opinion is that buyer already has it.

There are many people on here, including myself, that would return the funds when the card arrived. The fact that the buyer was quick to open a case after you said there was no tracking leads me to believe you will not be receiving any money if the card does show up.

I have only had 4 itmes "lost in the mail". 3 were ones I sent, all outside the country and one being sent to me

I will be the 1st one to jusp in and congratulate you if you get your money back.
