you sell something like a box topper pack and they tell you in their feedback to you that they got an auto? (see my feedback).. wtf don't tell me that! not a big name but still! I have 30 sealed packs left.. what are the chances there is an auto in there? lol

"Pull of a lifetime, thanks for selling me a 9.99 box topper!"

I'd rather not know myself...I have 2 I was going to list...what are the odds for an auto'd box topper anyway?

numbered to 10? f that then. I'm still hoping people will buy them. I might have to break up the 10ct lots if they do not sell this time around.

But look at it this way... someone is giving you SUPER ADVERTISING for your next sealed uncirculated box topper sale?!?!?! Even at card shops where you know the owners or the workers regularly bust wax you have to wonder how many BIG cards walked out the door and were opened either in the car or at someone's house?

Cap

We did the odds on auto'd toppers...about 1 per 11 cases...very small chance of pulling one. I myself would also be one to input what i got. Some sellers like to know

Or the person could have pulled a regular card #d 1079 and put that comment to try to get you worked up...

Hey Captain, since the chances of an auto is "slim to none", I'll offer you $10 for the lot! :D

Sorry, just yanking your chain a little. You know what, I never thought about it from that perspective. I have bought some of the "hot packs" from a fellow board member and listed the name of the auto in the feedback. My reason was to show potential bidders that the person is honest and not resealling.

Your situation is a bit different but I think he was just trying to give you some unbiased good feedback to future bidders.

I know, it doesn't help now.

Good-luck,

Jason

P.S. My offer still stands. ;)

I guess I'm a little different Capt. B. to everyone that I have sold a case or more I ask them to let me know if they pull a big hit. :)!

I used to sell loose packs of 1994 SP Baseball. They were actually all the packs from one box at a time. I would take a picture of the sealed box and post that on the auction with the packs. I would sell them in lots of 1, 2, and 3 for a couple of weeks in a row until they were all gone. I always hoped the buyers that pulled the good cards...A-rod of course, and Trot Nixon, etc at the time, would post their pulls so everyone would know I was an honest seller. My packs always sold for more than others that were selling the same packs at the same time because my feedback showed many pulls of A-Rod rookie and die-cut rookie cards, not to mention the holoview versions.

I know it can hurt to hear they pulled something good, but it can only help future sales in my opinion.

Yeah if they announce in your feedback they got something great...Then that makes the rest of your pack sales go nothing but up! And you know what, I'd announce in my next description of the next box toppers as well, "Check out my feedback, bla bla bla"...I believe you will make more money in the long run by selling the packs you have left....:)!
