what a surprise, nothing new came out in the interview.

brett, just sign with the vikings, have an above average (but not great) year and finally retire knowing you got a chance to "stick it" to the packers. nobody cares anymore. and don't worry, all those packer fans will forget about this in 10 years and maybe start buying your overpriced memorabilia and donating to your charities again.

I think when this game goes down, old man Favre is in for more than he can handle. I'm so effing tired of the Favre drama, that it wouldn't bother ne one bit to see him go down and stay down!!! He neeeds to give it up already. Can you say bye bye to Brad Childress? If Favre couldnt do it w/ Coles and Cotchery, how the hell will it happen w/ Percy Harvin? It aint gonna!!!!!!!!!

This is nothing but the Brett Favre Ego Trip 2009 Edition. I used to love this guy and respect everything about him, but now the mention of his name makes my skin crawl and I want for him to go away and if that does not work to miserably fail as a Rent a QB.

I think we saw what happened to the Jets last year when Favre tried to do too much. As a Bears fan I can only wish he signs with the Vikings.

He wouldnt have to do as much if he came to the vikings. He would be coming to a team with the number one running back in the league and the number one rush defense in the league.

But hey will see if it happens.

The Dynasty is right.....Brett won't have to "try" to win games on his own with AP taking a big load off his shoulders. Then combined with that DEFENSE....The vikings could win that division and have a top seed in the playoffs easily. Just like Roethlisberger who doesn't have to do much.....His Defense wins all the games for the steelers and he may have to make a nice play or 2 in the process (Super Bowl). I am a FAVRE fan, and i'd like to see him play again. He is THE Cal Ripken Jr of football, and if he wants to play then let the future HOF'er play! I understand the retirement/change of heart crap may be getting old, but he loves the game. Not to mention he was tearing up the NFL last year and had MVP talk until he hurt his shoulder. If it heals, then he will be a top 10 QB EASY at age...what 40? He will definately be a HUGE boost for the Vikings which is a decent QB away from making a run. The good thing for them is FAVRE is a great QB when healthy. Anyways....just my opinions

I agree with all of this. It's nice to see opinions on the other side once in a while. I'm a Favre fan too.

This would be a much better story had the Packers let him go before he was ready without ever talking about retiring, and then the Vikings pick him up because he still really wants to play. Do the circumstances really have to make that much of a difference when Favre has done so much for the game? There's no doubt that he's tainting his legacy, but it sure keeps everyone talking about football.

What does Adrian Peterson think of all of this? I haven't paid any attention. Anyone know?
