1 of 1's in some sets have lost their significance. I think Topps Milstones Baseball had like 1,000 1 of 1's or maybe more

does anyone else think that the reason cards aren't selling as well is because the card companies are trying too hard to make them rare? I remember when you pulled an insert or a refractor, it was a big deal. My first jersey card, I was ecstatic! Now I've pulled two 1/1's and I can't give my inserts away. What will it take for these companies to not implode?

They've done those "stat" windows with many products. I know Legendary Cuts BB had them last year. They give you one of those 1/1s per case IIRC, so they have to repeat players several times to put one in every case.

yes....... but more of a no. the "collectors" are the ones who wanted better odds on the low numbered parallels, jerseys & autos. i'd say the blame falls 50% on collectors, 30% the eceonomy and 20% on the manufacturers........

eBay made it easier for people to locate the cards/players they collected, but it also created competition between sellers to offer the best prices. couple this with the fact that most sellers who bust can't actually afford to spend $1k+ and practically give their cards away to get back the money they spent as quickly as possible, and prices drop fast..............

also, buyers are smart enough now to wait a week or two until the initial price surge is over and then buy a card for 50%+ less.

so to answer your question........ ebay would have to go under with card shows making a BIG come back.
