I finished the autographs and the costumes but it didn't quite feel like it was ready for framing, so I tracked down the Kirkman/Lincoln/Callies/Bernthal photo, and then I couldn't resist the pence custom puzzle piece when I saw it on FeeBay, and the Pence print came with it as a bonus. Very happy with how the final product came out.

Awesome! Are those magnetic holders or screwdowns?

Magnetic. Protech quik-flip, size 85 for the costumes and 35 for the autos. I got my first eBay card purchase sent in one and fell in love, can't say enough good things about them.

It looks nice, but I'd have to stick with my Walking Dead binder, I added the Kirkman Auto from CBLDF as well from Cryptozoic.

Beautiful display, 100x better than having them in the binder imo (if you have the room to display it lol).

I do have one question though, what are you going to do when you pull the A3 & A4 that is missing from the Season One set that is going to be inserted into Season Two coming out later this year?

mrchipz: I got it done at a local MA chain called Big Picture Framing, but I think any place with a quality staff could do it. My local store has two great employees who really love their work and were super excited the first time I came in with some cards to mount, which made me feel good that they'd want it to look good too. I did a small job first to test them, just a straight mounting for my Firefly autograph set, nothing but the cards which they floated on a background and that's what gave me the idea for this one.

The photo and the two Pence pieces are standard dry mounted mattes with the photos behind the matte, which then serves as the surface for the cards to be mounted around them. I believe they used silicone to attach the card cases which gives them that floating appearance which might be tough to see in the scan. Then I believe the term is shadow-boxing - the outer matte frame is above all of the cards, so there is an additional depth to the whole thing. I may have seriously messed up the terminology as I was just worried about it looking cool but I hope that gets the point across.

The price was a bit much - just a hair under $700. But, I got the museum quality glass which added almost $200 to the price. On my Firefly set I went with the middle quality conservation glass, and it really does have a lot of glare even in low room light, so I decided to splurge after all the time and money I spent on collecting the set. And they gave me a 50% off coupon, so my next two sets (Spartacus and LotR) should together cost about the same, which will be nice.

I would imagine that he would put them with the season 2 set where they belong. They were not issued in season 1 and should not be considered part of that set.

I'm debating on how I should display my Firefly set. Can you post a picture of that framed piece? I'm trying to get some good ideas :)

I wonder if Season 2 is going to become a "living set". That means that the Autographs and Wardrobe cards will pick up with card #19 and on instead of another #1.

Great display, just missing 1 little card.

Definitely will add to the season two set. Also already have the centerpiece planned. Heading to Chicago wizard con in August, got the package for the Bernthal/Reedus autographs, should be able to find a good photo for them to dual-sign.

Rambel, it's nothing special at all, I just went with the floated-mount look in the shadowbox, no logo or any special pieces, but here it is. Definitely not in the same class but I was experimenting, what can I say? You can also very easily see the difference between the medium-tier glass here as you can easily see me reflected in the glass versus the museum quality glass in the other one.

Why would they belong with the Season Two set? Just because they were inserted into that release? It was the fault of the signer and not Cryptozoic that they are going to be inserted in Season Two. The A3 & A4 autograph cards will have a completely different look than those of Season Two I am assuming so they would look out of place. Everyone's Season One set is incomplete without those two cards.

Great display, just missing 1 little card.

Which card is that? Rick's Patch /16?

Also, mf1971999, what was the logic of ordering the cards in the way you did in the display? It looks great but just was wondering. Thanks.

While each collector will look at it as they like, the cards (for whatever reason) were not part of the season 1 set. Also, until there is some info/images from CZ, nobody knows what the autos are going to look like...they very well might keep the same design and just add to the current numbering.

That's a bingo. I've thrown an offer out to the WD world, I'm paying $1200 for a 4 color Rick Patch, pass it on.

I had thought long and hard about whether I should hold out for a Patch, or even a sketch. In the end I decided I had the extras to close the set with the photo and puzzle cards but you are correct, that would have pushed this over the top.
