With Lowry saying today he wants to get traded if McHale returns as coach, this article makes for an interestering 3 way to bring Deron Williams to LA...

I don't think Houston is going to give up half their team Plus a draft pick for Gasol who has 2 years left playing at a relatively high level. I just don't see that happening.

Agreed. But no one should take bleacher report seriously.

They were going to do it last year but include Dragic instead of Lowry. Now it looks like Dragic is there PG of the future

I think Lowry in going to be really good. That's if he isn't injury prone.

I sure hope Dwill goes to the lakers. But if you google EVERY FA available, from the past to the present, rumors always have the lakers as the team that might land them.

That might happen as well. Even if the Lakers couldn't do a three way deal they are still interested in Lowry himself.

Unfortunately the Bleacher Report is not one of the more reliable sources out there. Would be nice though

I don't think morey would do that trade unless he had something else planned like he did last time.

I love how Lakers fans think every outlandish trade is possible and every player wants to come to the Lakers. (This article had DWill and DH12 coming to the Lakers in the offseason for Gasol/Bynum/and some slop...get real).
The Sixers this offseason will have room to pay a max salary between expiring salaries and amnesty of the rest of Elton Brands contract. There will be other teams in the running as well which don't require sign and trades or other swaps.
The Lakers are stuck with their high priced aging team for the time being.

But CP3 DID want to come to the lakers. The lakers DID have a trade on the table to aquire CP3, but Stern DID veto the trade.
How do you explain that one as a non laker fan? Do you think Stern should have the power to veto trades between teams?

i think if he stays in NJ he might have to play with the devils or the giants / jets ...do the liberty still play there?

doubt NJ trades him.....
Mikhail and Billy believe that he is going to stay, so giving him away for Lowry would be silly, although it would give some nice pieces to build around, especially if they get the top 3 pick too

Isnt the hornets own by the other 29 teams? If thats true I think thats the only reason Stern had the power to stop it. Plus CP3 really just wanted to play in LA.

There is a fine line between ownership and management when it comes to making decisions. While they must communicate and be on the same side of the fence, if ownership wanted to make all the decisions, then why have management?
It happens in baseball all the time. Ownership makes decisions that are bad for a franchise defying management and ruins the chemistry of teams and players.
Stern is not an owner. He is a commish!! He shouldnt have any say in any team dealings even if they are owned by the league. There should be another council to handle it. His job should not conflict with trade or negotiations of players and teams but rather just league itself.

thats true. I just hate when a superstar's contract is about to go out because all i hear at work is how that superstar will become a Laker than if they don't,I hear how that superstar didnt deserve to be a Laker:rolleyes:

stern represented the owner of the team (the NBA) and the owner can veto any trade they want, so yes I think that is very right that he can veto the trade.

Hornets are no longer owned by the NBA, I believe the Saints owner snatched them up for pennies on the dollar.

How many company CEOs do you know that act as if they are the owners of the company and make decisions without consultation??
From what I remember, management of the team was all for the trade. It was Stern that was against it. Ive never known any organization that made decisons based on 1 person. Especially when that 1 person also is the commish of the league. Talk about a major conflict of interest.
But then again, Stern along with every commish of all 4 sports have been known to be corrupt. This reminds me of the Marlins, expo and Selig ordeal.
