So recently, I was really excited to purchase this Kobe card for my PC:
Kobe Bryant Fleer Brilliants 24kt Gold 8/24 | eBay (http://www.ebay.com/itm/Kobe-Bryant-Fleer-Brilliants-24kt-Gold-8-24-/270987936429?pt=US_Basketball&hash=item3f1823c2ad)
A few hours later though, the seller makes up so BS excuse that his partner didn't agree with the sell, and backs out of the deal,AFTER I had already paid, and he made NO attempt to resolve the situation.
This happened yesterday, and I'm still beyond pissed off this morning, the thing is, I know for a fact that his excuse is complete BS, and odds are, someone else in the community probably saw the auction, got jealous, and offered him more for it, which doesn't surprise me since this hobby is full of scammers and cheats. I honestly wanted to wait until that cheater slipped up and revealed himself with the card, so I can call him out on it, but whatever , what's done is done. All I know is, that cheater better not ever show that card or try to sell it, because I will expose you. And if you're the cheater reading this right now, I hope Karma bits you straight in the A$$.
I've always tried to be an honest and trustworthy member of this community, but after this experience, I've reached my breaking point and calling it quits on being a collector, it's just too hard to trust anyone anymore. I'm just so tired of so many dishonest sellers and members, and the people who constantly complain all the time. I use to be so proud of my PC and so happy to be part of this community, but now I'm just thinking, what the hells the point, since someone is always out there to screw you over. I should might as well cash out right now and get out of this terrible hobby….. :(

this guy would put a unreasonable price on some nice KD cards action so he would win it unless someone is willing to outbid him. And after all that, he won't pay for the actions he won.

It's really just all the fighting I see going on, on the forums that I don't like, I really don't want to go into detail about it
And it looks like hobbykings deleted my thread, who knows, maybe one of the cheaters is on there... I just can't trust anyone anymore...

That sucks man!
It happens all of the time, these scumbags have now determined the way to get cards that other people have bought ... by emailing offers to the seller for much more! It's horrible!
In fact, some of your buddies over at HK have been proven to do this. Many people are now doing this, and it's just making the hobby one big giant scamming/scheming/manipulated mess!

Yeah, I hear you. It's hard enough for someone like me, with a budget, to add nice cards to my PC, with these soaring auction prices. But now it's just sad when people steal great deals from underneath you.

Why would they Delete the thread ? I mean Two of the so called elite squad where called out for Contacting a seller on Ebay after a MJ Ruby was sold for $400 around 7 mths ago and the thread was shut down real quick even though they where exposed and nothing happened .
I have seen enough in the last 12 mths to make me sick, I can call out a heap of these so called respected members on another board for first hand experiences I have had with them But i haven't becasue when I did the groupies get around them so it's best to stay silent.
I have had respected members Sell me cards not disclosing the condition ( And you know they know what they have as they take Photo shots on a tilt not a direct scan so you can't tell the damage )
I have had many respected members try to sell me cards for double to triple the going rate telling you they are doing you a favour and I mean heaps of them have tried this over the 4 years since i have been back collecting on multiple forums it's a joke .
The best was a guy chasing me to buy a card for a set I was trying to complete and trying to sell me a no namer for $80 when I purchased Higher named players for much cheaper , till he had the balls to call me out because i was blowing him off in a nice way but how do you tell a vulture to rack off, again another so called respected member .:flex:
When you see the "Respected" members pulling these stunts and i won't go in to the other side you start losing respect real quick , but to alot of people i see on here and on the other boards bow down to them it's quite funny to see the idiology in this game .
You have top notch cards you can do whatever you like and everyone will still love you in this hobby it's quite sad to be honest .
Sorry to hear a jealous person rob you of what you purchased first!

Firstly, this is not how ebay works...
A few hours later though, the seller makes up so BS excuse that his partner didn't agree with the sell, and backs out of the deal,AFTER I had already paid, and he made NO attempt to resolve the situation.
Um, ebay seller, you don't get to approve or deny sales after the auction has closed...
However secondly, if crying about missing out on a BIN steal and the actual fact has made you wish to give up completely, then you need to relax... I have basically quit the hobby for similar reasons as you stated - the dishonesty and greed - but to not 'make out like a bandit' on a BIN auction being the catalyst? Pretty fragile if you ask me...
In NO WAY do I condone what has been done to you - once an auction is sold then the item should be sent to that paying buyer. What I am saying is that you don't have to quit just because someone may have been underhanded regarding this BIN steal. The BIN hunters are some of the most pathetic people out there IMO.

It really is a combination of things that make me feel this way, really just the overall dishonesty of the hobby. I mean, I don't mind missing out on BIN steals, I've missed out on plenty and it really doesn't bother me. But to finally be lucky enough to get one of a really nice card of my PC player, then to have it stripped underneath me, really pisses me off.

Hi, Sorry to hear this happened to you. That's jsy numbered card of top 20 Kobe 90s card with nice subs except surface at a super great steal deal. I also have experienced similar situations and can totally feel your frustration and pain. It can take a while to flush it out.
But please don't make important decision, hobby or not, when you are down and upset. You have great cards and taste, please hold the urge of giving up during tough moment. Once you sold them off, you will have a hard time getting them back at price you sold and you might regret one day.
Good luck, hang in there.

Thanks man, yeah that would have been a sweet card to have in my pc, especially since I know there isn't a chance in hell I would ever be able to get that card again (Jersey# or not)
But, we'll see, I may start listing a few things a little bit at a time instead of dumping it all out at once. I really am getting tired of this hobby now...

Well it looks like I may have been wrong about someone buying off of him off ebay, the seller has re-listed the card: 1998-99 Fleer Brilliants Kobe Bryant 24kt 8/24 | eBay (http://www.ebay.com/itm/1998-99-Fleer-Brilliants-Kobe-Bryant-24kt-8-24-/270989396299?pt=US_Basketball&hash=item3f183a094b)
Still, this seller is a rude shady SOB, and I personally wouldn't deal with him.

Well, the amount of price increase from last time does indicate someone might have contacted him to interfere. I could be wrong. Anyways... Like I said, it will take a little while to completely move on, and don't let them spoil your hobby. Keep building your nice Kobe/MJ collection. Good day.

Yeah, who knows, maybe he did strike a deal with someone, but after seeing my threads, the buyer probably backed off.
Anyways, I'm gonna try and contact ebay about this whole re-listing thing, because I still never agreed to cancel the original auction, I could still technically re-pay him for the original amount if i wanted to.

Well, I contacted ebay, and as many people have stated, what he did is a breach of buyer/seller contract, and since I never agreed to the cancellation of the original auction, he still needs to honor the original sell of $400. Ebay is gonna contact him and we'll see what happens from there. I'm still debating though whether I want to pay him again though....

Sorry this happened to you, but there is nothing eBay can do at this point. They have no power to compel anyone to send their item and can only threaten a strike against the seller. Just move on and be glad you got your money back.
