For whatever reason, they dont seem to sell as well as one would expect. Obviously if you have a star and a scrub it's less desirable. I love the ones that have two stars/hof guys. Thoughts? Like/dislike?

I hate them with the passion of 1,000 fires.

If it's the right guys, sure, but it rarely is.
I saw a quad auto of Kobe, Kareem, Magic and.......Odom hahaha. Odom probably lowers the value by at least $100 on that.
I always use to think that dual autos were ALWAYS better than single autos, but have come to realize that sometimes a dual auto can really hurt its sell value. IE. Rose/Stuckey autos have been selling for $50 and a Durant/M. Williams (?) was listed for $55 on here once.
Personally I don't care about dual autos and would pay just as much for a star player + mediocre one than the star player's auto on itself.

I actually like Dual Autos of a "Star + Scrub" for the reason mentioned - They sell lower than a Single auto of the star most of the time - LoL
I think an auto is an auto, so if I want a Lebron James auto, I personally don't care if Luke Jackson or Mo Williams is there next to him :)

I don't like them either. Prefer single auto's unless they are pairs that would make sense (e.g. Magic/Bird, MJ/Pippen, Malone/Stockton, Kemp/Payton, Shaq/Kobe, West/Baylor, etc.), but I think card companies for whatever reason makes terrible dual autos for the most part.
I have this Dual auto that I like, but as you can see Kenyon Martin decreases the value of the card significantly. Unfortunately, Scalabrine does not have a certified auto of himself only, so I am stuck with this.

They use to sell very well when they first started doing duals... For me, i'd rather have solo for each players, for sets such as NBA 50 Greatest. I remember back then cards that use to go for $200 now go for $60 or so.

The only dual I own is a chronology Steve Kerr/BJ Armstrong, and that is a great one which makes perfect sense!

As a couple have said, as long as the pairings are good then it is fine!
I do, however, HATE when I need to get a dual or triple auto for my DeJuan Blair pc that has someone like Blake Griffin on it (I'm looking at you season update)!! Means I need to pay $150+ for a Blair sticker auto???

I have a few duals, and some I like. But some pairings sicken me.

This is one of my fav cards and only dual autos, and I think ones like these can be the exception to the rule. :)!

Totally agree with the above post....
In Exquisite, there are some amazing dual, trip and quad auto's to be had, with HOFers, with on card auto's, just amazing cards. In my opinion, these Exquisite multi-auto's are some of the nicest cards in existence and will probably hold the most value going 10+ years into the future. Just my opinion.
I think if the card company put the right people together then it's fine, such as Magic/Bird, Jordan/Magic, and etc. When they put people like Isiah Thomas, Dwight Howard, and Yao Ming on the same card, then it doesn't make any sense (that is a real auto in SP Game Used).

It depends on the dual and it depends if it is on card or stickers. Panini Duals seem to have lower value than some of the UD ones due to their sticker madness. If they are themed right they are very desireable cards... Here's a few from my collection which I feel are done right:

Depends on the dual like everyone else has said obviously if you pull a MJ/Pippen, Magic/Kobe, or Bird/Magic its going to be worth more than a card with a legend and a dud or a star and a dud.

Bona-fide star and HOF dual autos are great and will always hold value (e.g. Kobe/MJ), however rookie duals, triples, etc are problematic as there is almost always at least one eventual weak link that will bring down the value of the card. Also, sometimes when the card has a modern day uber star like Kobe and a past star like Moses Malone the card's value will suffer as collectors as a whole can not identify enough with Moses's achievements and prefer him not to be on the card. Also, as some have mentioned, if the card pairs a HOFer with an up and coming RC star the card can go either way - an example of when this works great is the 05-06 SPX Wayne Gretzky and Sidney Crosby RC Dual JSY auto...coincidentally happens to be Crosby's only dual auto card with another player other than himself.

Maybe I'm old school, but I like cards with big photos on them. An auto card with 2, 3, or 4 floating heads on it just doesn't do anything for me. lol

I personally like dual autos if both players are hall of famers or soon to be hall of famers. I would rather have a single auto than to have a dual with one good and one bad player on it. I like the lebron and jordan dual autos. Most of the time you can pick them up for less than and mj auto by himself numbered to the same amount.

I would like to eventually own a quad auto with Jordan, Lebron, Kobe and Durant. Wonder if they exist.

I just searched Beckett and the answer is no. They do have a quad patch of the four but no auto version. Don't think this will ever happen until UD gives up rights to Lebron and Jordan.

I agree with many of you. I only like dual autos if the player combination makes sense.
This is the only dual auto that I own...

Meanwhile, I'm equally fussy about dual/triple/quad game used cards. These are the only ones I have...

This one won't be an obvious choice to most people, but LeBron and Shaq are my girlfriend's two favourite players and we went to see them make their debut for the Heat and Celtics respectively, so the card has sentimental value...

I like the Shaquille and Lebron card, it may not be an expensive piece but an important part of the 2009-10 season.

Definitely depends on the players and if the pairing makes sense, the dual auto in my avy is one of my favourite cards :D

Co-Signers were cool - I'd love the Shaq/Duncan one.
I'm also quite fond of this set

But yeah, as others have said - a lot of the time one player brings the value of the card down...
Something like MJ/Kobe, MJ/Lebron, MJ/Pippen, Kobe/Lebron, Magic/Bird, Durant/Westbrook would be cream of the crop.

I wonder how much the 2 scrubs on the front

Detract from the value of the 2 superstars on the back?

I used to think that dual and triple autos were much more valuable, but in fact, they are not, however, one of my favorite cards is my 08/09 Topps Treasury triple auto of Bird/Magic/D Rose...and it's #'d 1/9....anyone think this card will hold it's value with two HOF's and Rose?
One card I would love to see UD produce is a Jordan/Rose auto....why they haven't, I don't understand!!! :(

Nice card. I think Aldridge is the best PF in the league. This card makes sense too with them both coming out of UT.

As an auto collector for my PC, I agree with many people so far. It really depends on who the signatures are from.
Perfect example of what I mean - Johnny Bench was my favorite baseball player as a kid. I have 2 dual auto cards with him on it. One is with Carlton Fisk (a definate keeper and actually on my bookcase as a display piece). The other is with Russell Martin. Since I do not follow baseball any more, I had / have no idea who Russell Martin is and why he is even on a card with Bench. Martin is in a Dodgers uniform. Owner of the LCS knew I liked Bench and basically gave it to me since he could not sell it in his store. That card is sitting in a box of cards for trade and sale and is not even in my auto collection PC.
