Y'know, pink used to be a color for boys back at the turn of the 19th century. Here's one such article (http://www.smithsonianmag.com/arts-culture/When-Did-Girls-Start-Wearing-Pink.html), quoting "The reason is that pink, being a more decided and stronger color, is more suitable for the boy, while blue, which is more delicate and dainty, is prettier for the girl." In the late 30's/early 40's department stores battled over which color should be for which gender, and eventually they settled on the way things are now.
