Yeah that red card was a horrible call IMO, even though I am biased towards the US, it was still not at all a red... I would even argue if it was a yellow, I thought it was a clean hard challenge.

I absolutely hated the red card call in the earlier game against I think Italy and I hated this one. I would hate to think referees are biased against the U.S., but horrible calls either way. Luckily it did not effect the outcome of the match.

Felhaulber is just as good if not better than Bradley, he created the second goal and reminds me of a young Donovan.

The announcer said Fellhalbuar should be starting because he's good at controlling the ball and is calm with defenders around him (as shown when he knifed up there defense today).

Yeah the game today seemed lopsided even though we won... the US did not do a very good job of controlling the ball, the just capitalized on their scroing opportunities.

Agreed. I think we all know we still will have our hands full with either Brazil or South Africa, being in their home country. I know there are people who say Spain didn't play their best game, but that's no excuse. Even if that's true, you cannot use that as the sole excuse for why they lost. Tim Howard made some great saves in goal after giving up a few goals against Italy that I thought were stoppable. Nice game, we'll see what happens Sunday.

Yes, they beat Spain. However, USA generally speaking cannot compete with the best. Look at Landon Donovan; he is supposed to be one of the U.S. top players, but he is too small and gets bodied by the bigger guys he goes against. Tim Howard keeps this team alive, he is one of the best goalies in the world. They didn't play good defense necessarily, but rather just packed everyone in the box. Yes, overall they played solid against Spain, but look at their goals. Jozy Altidore's goal probably could have been saved by many goalies, although he did a phenominal job shielding the defender. Ramos on Spain, who in my opinion was the best player on the field, literally stopped the ball for Clint Dempsey, who easily but it away. If we are talking World Cup, USA cannot compete with the size and strength of the powerhouses in the World, like Brasil, Europe, Argentina, etc. Whatever, we can be fans for now and enjoy the USA upset, because wins like these will not come around often! :)!

Size means nothing in soccer...Howard is about the 10th best goalie in the world...Altidore is team USA's future...The Spanish goalie is the best in the world, Altidore made him think he was going right and he went left...Ramos is a pussy enough said...If the US gets in a easy group next year I can see them getting to the semis again. They have plenty of talent and great chemistry, there problem is consistancy, they are by far the best conditioned team in the world, but they don't play consistantly enough. If you think the US isn't as big and strong as Brazil, Argentina and the Euro countries you're on crack, they're all much smaller and less conditioned...

Casillas is easily the best keeper in soccer, ask any analyst...Altidore is 19 for God's sake, and is already the best player we have not named Tim Howard. Ramos chokes in all big moments that's why he's a pussy, he's skilled as hell, but he chokes whenever it counts, look it up...Shots don't mean #@#@#@#@, how many were actually saved, about 10? Half were block 2 feet from where the shot was shot from...

I completely understand that Spain is better than the US, but this just shows that the US CAN compete with the Worlds best, not saying that they are better than them.

Maybe I'm completely wrong here but am I the only one who thinks offsides is a cheap foul? In a lot of cases, it's because the player has like five steps on the defenders towards the goal...not like teams are keeping a forward down by the goal and they're booting it down to them...

It's not cheap, the defenders step up so the guy is behind them on purpose alot of the time so that they are offisides, if there wasn't offsides fowards could just stand 10 feet from the goal and the goalie could just punt them the ball and they'd be 1 on 1 with the goalie. It would also make the game even more defensive orientated if there wasn't offsides since the defenders would have to stay 10 feet from the goal all game. Atleast that's my take on why they have it.
