Convinced the wife to stop at a card shop on the way home from Chicago tonight and ran in and just had the owner grab me 3 random boxes. Came home and decided I needed my 5 month old to touch them for luck considering what a turd box of 52 Rookies I opened last night. I'm pretty satisfied with the results.

The redemption is for a dual Brandon Webb/Chris Young

The redemption is for Aramis Ramirez but I haven't seen a redemption card that looks like that. Is that anything special or just a random letter?

All in all I was pretty happy. I pulled 3 autos from the SPA box, the Buysner card, and a dual redemption.

Wow, I could use the Ramirez, I didnt even know he was in the set!! Would you sell it?

I'm torn on whether to sell it or not. I'm still not 100% certain what it is to be honest. Some of the guys on the "other board" are saying it should be the full last name redemption but I don't see anywhere on the card saying that.

As a Cubs fan, it would be hard for me to sell it if it is the full name. But if it's just a single letter, I could easily part with it. I'll let you know.

Ok, after doing a quick search on ebay for completed listings, I can find only two listings for the letter redemptions with cards looking like this.

Chris Stewart - final price $126.16
Dan Uggla - final price $215.39

Is it the redemption for the entire last name?

That's what I'm trying to figure out. It doesn't say it on the card but most people seem to think it is. I suppose the only way to know for sure is to scratch it and enter the code. But I need to be sure I want to keep it before I do that. :)

Crash, It is for the full last name. I pulled one in my case. That is a HUGE pullas they are very hard to come by.

Damn! That's what I was afraid of. Now I have a big decision to make. As a Cub fan, it would be cool to pair up a full RAMIREZ with the full LEE I have from last year's set.

But selling it unclaimed would go a long way towards paying for the 3 boxes that I bought today. The sensible person in me says to list that sucker.

call UD and ask the status of it?

You would have to think that because it IS a redemption that they might not have it on hand. I'd sell it.. pay off whatever, then keep my eyes open for the redeemed sets as they come out. Rarely do the redeemed cards match the prices of the redemption cards that were sold months prior to the "actual" cards hitting the market. Either way nice pull and good luck w/ your decision.

Another reason why I'm leaning toward believing that it is the complete name set is that UD have zero Ramirez redemptions. All his letters are out there in circulation already. So the only redemption would seem to be the full name.

Or is that poor logic on my part?

Jeff at Matts in Joliet will be happy to hear of the huge pull - he loves hearing about these things.

That is where I opened all of the legends racing and pulled the Earnhard firesuit patch #/25 and the Johnson auto /25

oh man those redemptions are for the full last name? I sold the one I had for 35.00 :( luckily it was just mark reynolds but still. Wouldve been nice if it would say somewhere on the card that thats what its for. Seems like I just ate it for about $75

Crash, You can't sell that if you're a Cubs fan! Man, that's an awesome pull of your team! Think about how little you paid for those couple of boxes and you pulled that:eek:! Man, that's sick......wish I were that lucky.
I found the Ryan Braun on e-bay and almost paid an awful lot......I like these cards when you can complete a full name......keep it! Great pulls!

Wow! It gets nothing but more confusing.

Here's my thread at Becket: http://www.beckett.com/beckettforum/Default.aspx?g=posts&t=1576437&p=2

Seems likely that the redemption is for a set but which one? One guy claims it is a redemption that gets you all Ramirez sets. Yikes!

Sounds like I'm calling UD on Monday to find out for sure.

I would say that its for his Full Name or Last name, but Id definately check with UD and see if they're willing to answer this for you lol

Is it card number BL-10?? If it is then the checklist indicates that it is good for 21 letters (some combination of his last name, Chicago, Cubs)

No, there is no number on the back. In fact, the back is just a vague as the front. I'll get a scan up of it.

very vague, its not too hard to put "you have received a redemption for the full aramis ramirez nameplate set" or whatever the card is suppose to be lol

I decided I'm going to list it tomorrow but I'll be clear that I'm not 100% certain what it is and I'll let the bidders decide on what they think it is.

That is some strange wording on a redemption: "You may redeem your prize..." They refer to it as a prize. Kinda odd....

Dobber2330

just redeem it and be done with it....

i'd say redeem. cubs are your home town team, you can probably get more around there per letter than anywhere else.
