Hi Guys,

I saw this card on ebay which is purported to be the 2010 Dez Bryant National Treasures autographed signature materials 1/1 card. What concerned me is that it is supposedly "uncirculated" and came factory sealed by Panini, like the ones from the "Plates and Patches" collection do. But I have never seen a 2010 National Treasures card that has come in the "Panini" sealed case as uncirculated.

The link for the ebay auction is:

2010 National Treasure Dez Bryant TRUE 1/1 Rookie Star Patch Auto Panini Sealed | eBay (http://www.ebay.com/itm/2010-National-Treasure-Dez-Bryant-TRUE-1-1-Rookie-Star-Patch-Auto-Panini-Sealed?item=110895909078&cmd=ViewItem&_trksid=p5197.m7&_trkparms=algo%3DLVI%26itu%3DUCI%26otn%3D4%26po%3DLVI%26ps%3D63%26clkid%3D9155544651558931958&_trksid=p5197.m7&_trkparms=algo%3DLVI%26itu%3DUCI%26otn%3D4%26po%3DLVI%26ps%3D63%26clkid%3D9155544651558931958#ht_500wt_1413)

or you can just search:

"National Treasures Dez Bryant 1/1 sealed"

Can someone let me know if this card is for real, or did someone just stick it in a "Panini" case and try and sell it off as factory sealed uncirculated card? It seems silly to do that, because if it is a true 1/1, that would not be necessary to increase its value, and if anything it will hurt its value. But I know lots of people fake the factory sealed baseball card (like the Joe Mauers Bowman uncirculated) and put a regular rookie card in the Bowman sealed case to increase their value. Any guidance would be appreciated. I do love this card, but dont want to buy it if it is not legit. Thanks.

Panini has a program where you can send a patch card in to be authenticated and they will encase it and slap the Panini sticker on it.

There's some type of ink on the patch that they use to determine if it was originally in the card or not.

Info here: http://www.paniniamerica.net/faq.cfm

Is it possible to have my card authenticated?
Panini America has partnered with Eastman Kodak Company to employ KODAK TRACELESS System for Anticounterfeiting. Beginning with 2007 Playoff National Treasures and future products, each prime swatch of material will carry a unique and invisible marking that can be authenticated by Panini America through the KODAK TRACELESS system

Is the authentication process available for all cards?
Most of the counterfeiting is related to high-end products constructed with a prime swatch of material. For that reason we authenticate prime swatch material cards.

What happens during the authentication process?
Each prime swatch material on the card is tested for Panini America DNA using the patented KODAY TRACELESS System. After successfully passing the test an image of the card is captured into our database along with a unique authentication number that can be referenced for future validation. The card is then placed into a protective covering where it is sealed and shipped back to the customer along with a Certificate of Authenticity.

Thankfully they don't have to deal with many requests, since most of their crap is one color jerseys.

I've had my eye on that one too. I wouldn't bother with it if I was you, so when I'm me and doing my bidding I don't have to spend too much ;)

It will be interesting to see where the bidding ends up though, for the right price it's still a very slick looking card.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but the 1/1 in that set would be the NFL logo. The rainbow includes the following...

1/1 NFL logo shield
x/5 Reebok logo
xx/25 Team logo
xx/99 Patch

My first thought was a card from Panini Black Box or some other similar promotional card. The sealed case would make sense, because Panini inserted the cards into those for the giveaways. It's most likely not a hobby pulled card.

Yeah I'm pretty sure it's from a black box or another promo that Panini did.

I though all the black box cards were stamped on the card as such

Plus aren't the 1/1's a different color around the pictures other than gold?

Thats what concerned me as well as with the border being exactly the same as the gold card. Also the only 1/1 I found on beckett.com for Bryant was the "Rookie Signature Material Black", and this one is Gold. The Gold is limited to 25. Also the fact that its in a Panini Case is very fishy as he doesnt have a COA from Panini. I did research it as someone had postd earlier and Panini will authenticate it for you if you mail it in and put it in a case, but they also send you a COA from Panini, which he doesnt have. Also, he bought it and didnt pull it, so that is a concern. I think someone could have easily used a plates and patches case and stuck in this card. But I had never seen any Dez Bryant fakes before, and it seems like an awful lot of work for 1 card.

as others have said I'm pretty sure this is some kind of promo card i.e. black friday, nationals, etc.

the card is far from fake, and is a black box 1/1. There are several cards for each rookie that are 1/1's from that set that are normally #ed higher

Yeah it's a promo card but doesn't the star look different from mine? Or did they use Away jerseys also? don't know, looks off.

Mine would also hold more value IMO
