Yeah, that's a super waste of money IMO. I understand buying a blaster here and there, but why not just go hobby at that point? I can understand dropping big money on the Topps Value Boxes that were crazy, or even Chrome...something with some good resale value. But this is just like flushing money to me.

I would actually rather buy retail, it's more convenient. I hope that the card companies realize this and put retail up there close to hobby as far as value.

Yea and the only way to get some of the variations and colored sets without spending a grand is through retail. Topps chrome for example.

I really like having a LCS as opposed to just a retail outlet. Its a great place to go hang out and shoot the sh!t and talk sports while you bust some boxes. Much better than going to wal-mart if you ask me. And if retail was equivalent to hobby, hobby shops would probably all but disappear because they couldn't compete price wise. The internet has almost accomplished this, just think if you could get instant gratification from retail outlets, there would be no more LCS's.

Can you imagine Wal Mart ordering cases of product straight from Blowout? This is where the market is going.

I agree with you 100%. But, I talked to a guy down in arlington who works for Panini and he told me that Topps and Panini are on the verge of going to the next level with this hobby. Basically, it lies in the retail discount stores. The local lcs only has a very small market base. Placing hobby boxes (not cases) in large quantity in walmart, target and even Sam's Club opens up the floodgates for Topps and everyone else.

I busted 4 hobby boxes of this stuff, and spent $200 more than he did. He did much better than I did. I pulled A victor cruz 1/1, osweiler auto and thats about it. His sps are worth more than most of my autos were!

how dare someone try to make money in America. LCS should be more then just about buying. Its about the hobby, socializing and making friends. Why do you think people go to bars? The beer is about 3 or 4 times more then the Grocery store.
