Heatley saga continues as other Canadian teams wheel and deal (http://www.tsn.ca/nhl/story/?id=283499)
This is a snot nose punk if there ever was one. He kills a friend in a stupid driving accident that HE is responsible for and even though the city and the team welcome him back with open arms, he decides he can't handle it and asks for a trade.
Atlanta consents and deals him for Marian Hossa. Hossa who had just signed a new deal with Ottawa after a contentious but not terrible off-season negotiation where he could not get a no-trade clause but got a verbal agreement that he wouldn't be traded to another team without his approval.
That goes out the window and Hossa plays the good soldier in Atlanta and Heatley comes to Ottawa. Hossa does his best for a depleted Atlanta team but they never really contend.
Ottawa is a Stanley Cup contender and Heatley signs a six year deal with a no movement clause. Two years into this deal, he is in a down season and doesn't like his coach so he demands a trade.
Ottawa makes the trade, Heatley kills it.
If I'm Ottawa, I strip him of the "A" and tell him he can play for us the rest of the four year deal or he can retire and those are his options, and if he doesn't show up when he plays we are going to play hardball and take him to court for diminished capacity, like they did with Yashin (who looks like a prince now comparatively).
What an ingrate this punk is.
