This was pulled at a shop about 45 mins away from me:

2012 Topps Tier One Bryce Harper 1/1 On the Rise Gold Ink Autograph Parallel | eBay (http://www.ebay.com/itm/2012-Topps-Tier-One-Bryce-Harper-1-1-On-the-Rise-Gold-Ink-Autograph-Parallel-/221059628356?pt=US_Baseball&hash=item33782e3d44)

If only that case would have went to Greensburg, PA!

What is wrong with these people, putting up a 10k BIN, and then charging 50 for shipping.

Like if someone hits the 10k BIN you're all of a sudden pissed off that you have to dip into the 9+ you have in your paypal account to ship it?

Agreed 100%. If someone bought that off me, I wouldn't even take a chance mailing it. I would buy a plane ticket and fly it to them.

Yea, I was going to put in an offer close to his BIN, but I can't afford that shipping cost.

Since it's a redemption, I'd ship PWE with no DC, cut shipping costs that way :p.

I don't know...that doesn't really bother me. If he has a product that he thinks is worth $10k AND wants to ship in a way where it's going to cost him $50, so what....No different (IMHO) than buying a 10k piece of jewelry or 10k stero equipment and having to pay shipping.

I probably wouldn't do it but I don't really see a problem with it. Why is a card different than any other product?

I would have a problem with it on ANY product valued at 10000 and probably would not buy something that's going to require such expensive shipping that can be commonly acquired at my local mall unless the delivered price is lower than the mall's price (stereo equipment, jewelry, etc.). And while I do realize that shipping costs money, comparing a good that was purchased from a wholesaler with a retailer charging a specific percentage to make their profit and living, versus someone cashing in the baseball card equivalent of a lottery ticket is apples to oranges.

It's not going to sell for full price, so the point is moot anyways. Plus eBay is still hitting you for the same amount of fees on that shipping cost anyways. Maybe I'm biased because I offer free shipping on pretty much anything.

Someone is going to build that into their offer and have a maximum dlvd price they are willing to pay, so instead of 5000, they will offer 4950. I used to see this often when my BIN/BOs were 29.99 + 2.99 shipping, I would regularly get offers of 27.01 or something like that.

All I'm saying is the dude is asking his DSRs to get dinged charging $50 for shipping while losing 9% of it to fees

I work near that store and it has become the closest place I can go in person to buy hobby packs. I could save $50 and do local pickup. Funny I get paid today and was considering buying some Tier One there tomorrow. Nope

I forgot the 7% PA tax.
Save $50 on shipping.
Add $700 in taxes.

Completely disagree. In my mind, if someone wants to sell you a product, I could care less where it came from. What does that matter to me. You're selling something and you have the right to do so on your terms. If they want to ship with insurance and they have a value for shipping/handling then it's up to me to decide whether it's reasonable. It's not apples and oranges at all, IMHO. But hey, who says we all have to agree...just look at health care lmao!

Why even bother with the envelope? Just treat it like a post card, put a stamp on it, and send away :)!

Wow, I had no idea this was the shop by robinson center in PA. Needless to say the 50 dollar shipping charge doesn't surprise me; I have been to their shop a couple of times when visiting my girlfriends family and everything was really overpriced.

you're absolutely right... you can sell for whatever you want at whatever terms you want. But the buyers set the market value. The guy is dreaming if he thinks he's getting 10k for this. Let alone another $50 for shipping.

If he is selling on consignment, those contracts generally call for separate shipping - otherwise it comes out of the seller's cut.

lol are you serious? Let's just assume for a second that the card is worth anywhere near 10 grand. If youre that flipping cheap that you wont spring for the most expensive type of shipping known to man then you're a douchebag.

It's not going to sell for full price, so the point is moot anyways.

don't you mean it's a moo point?

While I agree with the premise of the OP, if a person has 10K to drop on a card they could probably wipe there @$$ with $50. I don't think they would mind.

I would simply ask the seller to scratch the back, take a picture and email it to me and then I would redeem the card and then the seller can mail it to me in a PWE. I wouldn't pay $50 for shipping on any card, especially a redemption card. Express mail doesn't even cost that much.

I think the seller knows that he is not going to get 10k for this card. That is why he has the "Best Offer" option going. If he is charging $50 to ship the card then buyers are going to offer $50 less than they would if it was free shipping. It's a wash either way.

And I think that we all know that its not really a bad thing to put a high BIN/BO on a card because you just dont know what someone is willing to pay. I got $500 for the 2012 Bowman Cespedes paper 1/1, most thought that would maybe get half that.

Item not as described....gimmie my 10k back...
Yah that will work

I wouldnt TOUCH a redemption card for that kind of cash.
2 easy for 2 people to run a train on you, leaving you trying to get a legal battle going and too easy to make it look like an inside job without it being one

His ass if it happens. should have redeemed it.

haha couldn't resist a chance to use it... never had done it before... it was either that or "that's a clown question, bro."

No I didn't watch much Friends back in the day... at that time I was more into Video Games and cartoons when it started (I was like 7 or 8), and more into ogling Courtney Cox and Jennifer Aniston by the time it went of the air. But good reference, I completely missed it.

Completely. I don't believe the price of the object has anything to do with whether or not shipping is included. If it's not worth 10k, then the market won't pay it. But if he wants to charge for s/h (like many other merchants) so be it. He's a douchebag because he charges s/h lol! Really??? Then I suppose half the internet is.

$50 shipping on $10k is not a big deal to me. Associate the cost into what you buy. I think Fedex overnight with $10k insurance would cost like $50

Yeah that's how I see it. But if it annoys someone it's certainly their right not to buy it just as it's the sellers right to charge it. I just don't get the sentiment that the guy is an idiot for doing it. But hey, if all our opinions were the same the boards wouldn't be any fun!

In his defense, I've seen so many people on here use "mute" when they should be using "moot," that my default had me believing you were mocking him for not using "mute." But I didn't think you were one of those people who use "mute," so it was confusing. Was a "not sure if serious?" moment.
