Upper Deck Redemption Question

I just checked my redemptions on Upper Deck and saw this:

What the hell is that? Does this mean they will give me what I want or will they tell me what I get?

give them a shout, what choice do you have- it took me 2 plus yrs to get redemptions from that product ( single auto cards of B.Richards and R.Nash) guess they will give you what in thier mind is equal or fair value.

I'd say is a bonus...at least you've got chance to get a fair replacement if they're not going to make it (or they checked their inventory and found out they didnt have as many as they're supposed to)!

You call them and they will have you give them a list of 3 players or teams and then they try to come up with something of equal value. Just had the same thing happen to me but it was just a $150 Greg Maddux auto card they weren't going to make. I figured what the heck and told them Sidney, Derek Jeter and Kobe Bryant. Will see how good of a laugh this turns out to be!!!

Not only 3 names, but be as specific as you want to be. If you like the Ultimate Collection from 2005 instead of 2006 tell them that, or Exquisite or whatever. Can't hurt, all they will say is no or that what you are asking for is unavailable.

Well, I just called Upper Deck about the replacement.
I gave them Crosby, Gretzky, Jordan, James, A-Rod, and Pujols as players I like.
He said I should receive something within 4-6 weeks. So now I'll have to wait and see.

Reading the thread brought back to mind that I am still waiting on a redemption, Chris Taft 05/06 NBA Trilogy auto Signs of Stardom. Checked the sight and have the same message. I don't think I can do any worse than a Taft auto.

had my phaneuf/nystrom prestigious pairings (05-06 SPA) replaced with a Phaneuf SPA rookie, so that wasn't too bad.
had a d'brickashaw exquisite post as a Kessel hotagraph (Sweet Shot) when I entered the code so I sent 3 emails to UD, no response (2 were to Chris Carlin) and had the Kessel come in the other day. not even the same sport!!!

I have the same redemption (and got the same message) as the first poster. I also had a Triple signature card from this same set that had the same message when I checked the status.
I called UD cust. service, and they asked if I still had proof of what I paid for both redemption cards, which I did, and to forward that along with a list of players I collect. So I e-mailed the guy with the info and a specific list of other Brodeur cards I still need. Most are high end, and I'm hoping they have a couple. If they were to replace my cards with some other player, I'd just sell them as I really don't collect anybody else.

I'll post what I get in return once I know.

They never asked me for proof of what I paid. Granted I did pull it out of a pack. But while I was talking to him, he was looking up what the card was worth. To my amazement, he said $500. At least it's good to know they go by high book value. I better get that in return and then some since it's almost been 2 years since I redeemed it.

nor should they care what you paid- it should be the fair book value and then some for you having to wait so long for your redemption. Face it, despite the latest UD effort to make good on redemptions, UD is still just awful with the entire process and as the "alleged' industry leader they should be embarrassed with their entire redemption process and overall customer service in general. It is just hard for me to fathom how they snookered the NHLPA into the exclusive contract, we all know of course but to us die hard fans that was hockey's darkest day since the lockouts in 94 and 04/05 and guys like the Great One and Mario hanging them up.............

And it looks like it is out of the regular Upper Deck set. But I'm not sure. Anybody know for sure?
How do you guys think I did?
Is it worth the $500 UD thinks it is?

hardly- I would be screaming- what did they do put an auto sticker on James base card ?? but then again what did we really expect?

i see a gold ink version sold for 142.50 plus 10 shipping, and a silver ink version sold for 152.49 plus shipping

no blue ink versions though, that i could find,
