I would have loved the Wings to get him but the asking price is high. At least he is out of the division. I wonder who is invovled.

Apparently the Wings were told there was no way he was traded within the Division

This is MUCH less than we were willing to give up during the season. We bascially gave them everything they wanted but the Columbus GM got cold feet. The list included Kreider but I'm sure he's untouchable now!

Boooooooo....not what I wanted to hear. Waiting to see what they gave up, but this is quite the score for the Rags.

Anisimov, erixon, dubinsky, and a 1st....

I think the rangers made out just fine

I'm happy with the trade. See ya Artie and Dubi...thanks for everything but we got what we wanted!

only guy i'll miss is anisimov, dubinsky took a big step back last year in my eyes, plus he's making a pretty decent salary now, so not bad to unload since we are going to have to pay nash now

Just terrible...Wings could have offered more, and reports has it that they offered something that they couldn't refuse and they didn't even reply. You can trade him to a division rival so it makes sense.

Rangers did well here

RT @Aportzline: #CBJ also sending 3rd pick and minor-league defenseman to #NYR in Nash trade. Told defenseman is not David Savard.

So they took Brandon Dubinsky, Tim Erixon, Artem Anisimov and a first-round pick from the Rangers, but demanded Seguin, Hamilton, and Lucic/Krejci from the Bruins?... piss poor management

Holy crap, where did this come from?
Still, great trade for the rangers. Although I don't think they needed it, I can't complain about what they gave up. Now the excitement should be even higher for next year.

#@#@#@#@ Scott Howson, #@#@#@#@ the Blue Jackets organization, and #@#@#@#@ Rick Nash.

Congrats, Columbus. You just managed to lose one of your seven fans. If anybody wants any of my Blue Jackets stuff, it's all for trade/sale.

Sleep on it first

What exactly did Nash win in 10 years? I realize he was the "franchise player" but a franchise player like Grady Sizemore was a franchise player.

I don't know much about what we got back - but I'll listen to some experts (coach type experts - not ESPN talking heads) before I blow up either direction.

And we have 3 1st's next year in a very deep draft from what I've read.

For those that are not familiar with the ex-rangers...here is a quick rundown:

Dubi: Hard working team guy; Regressed a ton from the previous year after getting a big contract; Needs to work on his fighting skills but could mold into a decent power forward

Artie: All talent but execution has been few and far between; had a good season last year but not enough for his talent; a sniper with the stick (ask Vinny Lecavalier)

Erixon: Young D-man with good bloodlines; need more playing time to get a read on whether he can contribute at this level both offensively and defensively.

A STEAL by the Rangers!

As a Devils fan, love it, Rangers just lost some prime depth. I'm surprised Kreider was not involved in this trade.

So now they have one line to roll and Gaborik is still out for the first month or so of the season. Good powerplay when Gaborik returns? Sure, but personally I think they need to add another person here for depth. All the pressure goes back on Richards' shoulders.

I'd say an olympic gold medal is pretty significant to win!

Howson has to feel like he lost here even though the group of players he got in return isn't horrible. From everything I've read he could have made this same deal long ago for the same return but kept holding out for something else. If that's the case then it seems to me like he settled for something he didn't really want and just took what he could get.

Be interesting to see how Nash fits into Tort's all out at both ends of the ice system. Nash will help them with the scoring issues but he never reminded me of a solid two way player and that usually doesn't fly with Torts.
