well, i have multiple of cases of elite extra today, topps sterling tomorrow (yes on sat), then ANOTHER 20 CASES OF BDP (YES, I'VE GONE MAD!!)

then a break until americana group break on 1/9 and topps heroes, then a month off until 10 or so cases of 08 topps, then 25-30 cases of heritage, then opening day, then another break (might try milestones and/or finest, but hope to have 4-6 week break)

what else is everyone doing?

I am still swamped with Draft cards but have 2 cases of Bowman Sterling ordered, 1 case of Americana and 3 cases of Topps Heroes. I will do Topps and maybe this year I will do Heritage for the first time. I have been wanting to but have been afraid. I will do Opening Day as well (tons of work but worth it).

I have thought about ordering more Draft myself.

I am sitting in an easy chair, laptop in my lap, a beautiful view of the Pacific to my left, Mauna Kea to my right, a beautiful woman sitting right across from me, and there isn't going to be a pack of cards anywhere near me for the next eight or nine days.

When I get back though, I will be up to my neck in bubble mailers and paypal shipping labels, and then it's back to whatever comes my way card-wise. I have the loot to hit a few cases of whatever strikes my fancy, but nothing concrete. Looking for something to make a lot of money on. Surveying the market and so forth.

I appreciate all of you for doing the dirty work and either proving or disproving my theories about what the market will do and what will be profitable. I am rooting for you all, and when you take a bath, it helps me (and everyone else) learn, so thank you for that as well.

Get a wife who loves to sort.

Problem solved.

Could only be done pre-kids, in my opinion...

I couldn't imagine my wife sorting now that we have the boys. And she LOVES baseball cards - just no time...

When we have kids, I will be the one doing the kid-related chores, I would imagine. I would imagine she'll still do the sorting, but we'll see.

With all the talk of everything that is "ruining" the hobby, I can't imagine that it will still exist a few years from now.

Still licking my wounds from my SPA case, bought the case for $1109 and total sales was around $935, so lost $175 plus fees, would have been MUCH worse had I not pulled a Joba....so I guess considering it was a UD product losing $175 is almost a small victory LOL.

Next up for me will be a mere fraction of Brent's 25-30 cases of Heritage (are you NUTS?!?! LOL).....3 cases for me.

Licking your wounds? In this day and age losing $175 is considered a win for most products.

I was looking at the Topps Heritage sell sheet and the way it reads the set is 500 cards with 75 of those as SP. There are also supposed to be 88 of the base cards with black background variations. So with inserts and variations a master set will be around 700 cards! That is insane and will require several cases to make a serious run at more than a couple of master sets. Sets should be in the $400 plus range easy maybe $500.

They were saying that in the late 80s, and then again in the mid-90s with the ultra rare inserts, and they will be saying that 5 years from now too. Whether or not I'm still doing it doesn't mean someone else won't be.

I was being sarcastic.
