Hi,
what do you think about a card numbered as the jersey number of the player, but in different jersey??

ex. LeBron, Cleveland picture...card set numbered less than 23, so 23/23 don't exist, but the number 6, may be different from the others???

I think may worth more the other, but depends of the card...patch or autograph, but can be coveted liek the first or the last card of the set.

This has been covered before. Most people feel that the jersey number of the player in the epecific card is the only one that matters. For example, if Lebron is pictured in his Cleveland jersey then 23 is the only number that matters, his Miami jersey number doesn't matter in this case.

+1

We saw this with Jeremy Lin during the hype. People listing cards that were 17/## as jersey numbered, but all the cards were showing him in his Golden State #7 jersey.

I actually started a Jersey #ed ONLY collection of Tony Parker. I didn't want to spend millions trying to get everything of him, so that was a good way to make the checklist shorter, also, because they are kind of a 1/1, it makes it a better feeling when I find one!!

Paying a premium for a jersey numbered serial number is the most idiotic thing buyers do in this hobby. Does that number make the card appear more beautiful when you look at it?

Actually, it is a smarter way to go imo!

If I ONLY collect the jersey #ed ones, then it is very rare that I buy a card. If I just bought all of the cards I liked the look of, I would be broke!

I guess if it takes the place of willpower, then it could make sense. However, not paying that huge premium would allow you to buy more cards. You are spending more in the end anyways.

Not always as they don't pop up that often and if it's ALL u buy then you're collecting is relatively small budget wise...
And as for it being the most idiotic.... there's plenty to choose from there, I don't think guys chasing certain numbers is the most idiotic by a long shot.
