2011/12 The Cup question

Does anybody know when the release date is? I thought that I read somewhere September 11th, but I don't remember where that would have been. I have not done much hockey since 05/06 but would like to jump back in with a case of this years Cup. I have not even seen a presell anywhere. Does anybody know anything?

Same could be said for June 6th or December 7th but today's youth would have no idea why those days are also historically relevant. After tragedy we must eventually move on.

We should definitely hold firm and remember the lost, but I see no problem with conducting business as usual on that day.

It seems UD is playing this pretty close to the chest, outside of a sell-sheet and some pictures they tweeted out last week. I actually tweeted at them, said they had just hand-packed everything, and that it was in fact due to be released on Sept. 11th. Secretive would be an understatement, but I think that makes the excitement level rise. I have seen nowhere to preorder, I have talked to a guy who said he isn't sure how many cases his distributor will let him order yet, so I'm guessing most people haven't ordered it yet either. It should be in the next few days for sure, but who knows?

Only one online dealer has a pre sale right now (in Canada).

I have been told allocations will be made to dealers this week, at which point we may see pricing and pre sales.

Finally going to do a full case, so I'm looking forward to it!

found a site doing box and 3 box case pre-sales. a lot higher, even with the currency exchange of the canadian site. i'm holding out for a 6 box case as soon as those become available but if anybody wants to get in on these, pm me for site info, so as to not step on BO's toes.

My LCS said they are getting 3 of the 3 Tin Cases in and that they will be there by next Tuesday the 11th. She told me Upper Deck specifically stated that if they come early that she is not to even think about selling them, so either they are really protecting this product or that's what they say about everything. All I know is, I got my 3 Tinner for $1200 and if my wife finds out, I am a dead man.

Really??? My LCS will be selling single boxes for $425. If someone wants me to pick one up for them and ship it, I would and you would still save about $50.

I just saw a breakdown for a box of The Cup, is it really only 3 hits per tin?

eh are u kidding? should be minimum 5 i think, maybe 4 if you hit a shield or something like that but 3 sounds like a error box or tampered...

I have considered buying some of these, but agree with everyone else that the price here is way too high. You are better off buying a three tin case of 10/11 for a few hundo more than 11/12. My strategy is to wait and hope for no NHL season, because if that happens I think the prices will drop due to extreme lack of interest. Lastly, my guess is if the pulls are weak pricing could follow the other 11/12 UD products (SPA and SPX, even Ultimate), as none of these products have been able to move higher in price.

not from the boxes i've seen. i haven't seen any stellar boxes, with most coming on the disappointing end.

Hes been pumping this stuff for over a month. I agree with you it doesn't look good.
