No Contenders or NT...whats his best true rc card then? Most expensive seems to be the SPA. Thoughts?

Topps Chrome Auto probably.
I like the Absolute RPA. Closest thing to an NT if he never signs them.

The Finest isnt a TRUE RC.
Do you want the Actull Beckett Tabbed RC or just one that is considered a Rookie to most?

Why isn't finest considered a true RC auto it's the same as a chrome?

I'll never understand the "true rookie card" theory.
The majority of collectors consider all products that released during that year as a rookie card.

I would go with these if he does not sign NT or EXQUISITE. Out of /299 and on-card

the base cards are the true rcs for both finest and chrome. autos are variations or inserts, but the hobby views them as rc year cards anyway.

I love these cards, although that absolute above is sweet I'd much rather have this.

the absolute is not a true rc but is a sweet card.

Absolute, Crown, Chrome any other good products that are on-card except for Gold Standard, as he signed too many of them. How he signed 525 Gold Standards, but can't sign NT is ridiculous!
I wouldn't buy anything in a college jersey, but that's just me. It's not his rookie college year..

I did not know that the topps chrome had on-card autos of julio. The only ones I have seen have been stickers. Certified just looks too blan with the chicklet swatches

Julio does not have a chrome base auto...he only has a refractor variation version, so I guess technically it isn't a 'true' RC

They don't, I meant any other brand that happened to be on card. Sorry, should have been clearer on that.

It all depends on whar era you started to collect.
I start collecting back in the early 90's. Back then, the RC definition was the 1st base card in a nationally distributed product. So for example, Shaq's Stadium Club series 1 base card is his RC, series 2 base card is not a RC and the beam team insert is not a RC. That's the true rookie definistion that I have been using since then.
To me, Topps Chrome and Finest base cards are the true RC but not the autos. The autos are first year cards but I don't consider them as RC.
