Does your friend know how that brown spot got on the baseball? I'm only asking because I have a David Wright baseball that I bought in perfect shape, then after about a year that brown spot appeared right over the autograph and I have no clue what it is or how it got there.

I don't do baseballs myself other then the few I have around in the house in cases. My guess would be moisture damage. If it's not in an air tight sealed casing then moisture could cause those spots. Sort of like a form of mold.

That's probably right. It's the only baseball I have which sucks, but I guess it gives me another reason to collect autos on cards instead of baseballs. Thanks for the info.

Yea that or switch to bats. I don't really see you having that problem with those.
