Gotta send my love out to Torrey Smith! He lost his brother this morning and still showed up to lead the ravens to a win tonight with 127 yards on 6 catches, with 2 TDs! Outstanding!!!

IMO Feel good story of the year. Torrey Smith played phenomenal and it couldn't have been a more fitting ending for him. His brother is smiling down on him.

ok, not trying to be an ass, I swear.
I like Torrey Smith and I'm not trying to start a fight, but why are we giving him credit for this? I can't imagine not being with my family at this time. I don't know how he could play a game with what happened.

You play to honor him. Everyone grieves in different ways ... I'm sure he will be spending the next several days with his family. He obviously felt that his other family members had enough of a support system to handle the last 24 hours.

Shock, denial, or maybe his family told him to play. People are giving him credit because he played so well whereas most of us (or so we think) would be crushed, devastated, etc.
Fortunately for me I've never been through something like that yet. Eventually I will but I won't question what or how someone chooses to deal with something like that.

All the articles I've seen says he left the team at 2 in the morning to be with with his family and returned just in time for the game to start. And obviously he'll be spending much more time with the family in the days to come.
Playing great to honor a lost one is definitely a great tribute.
Like Marcel Dareus, Torrey stepped up after a family tragedy and played very well.
What a Damn shame about both of their brothers.

They just said on sportscenter that after he scored the first TD, he forgot to keep the ball so Harbaugh sent someone to find it and they're putting it in his brothers coffin, great move by Harbaugh!
I would love to see the post game locker room with them giving him the game ball, but I have a feeling that video will never see the light of day, I'm sure it was a great scene and moment for him with his teammates.
I actually had a feeling he'd have a game like this, similar to Favre with his father a few years back, just didn't have the guts to start him in fantasy, oh well.

are you freaking kidding me????
Him being with his family wasn't going to do anyone any good, it's not like it was a sick family member or a baby being born where being there would actually make a difference and mean something to that person. He did way more good for his family with what he did tonight than he would have if he was with them during the game instead. I can't imagine the pick me up this was to the entire Smith family, being able to watch Torrey do that during such a tough time.
They'll have to live with the death of a son and brother for the rest of their lives, but at least they'll also always think of this great night anytime he comes into their thoughts.

He has a job to do and he went out and handled his business like a warrior. Congrats to the ravens for the win and my condolences to the Smith family.

You play because for 4 hours or so, it takes your mind off a tragedy that happened in your family's lives and also allows you to honor him.

Probably What his brother Would have wanted. him to do.
My Dad is actually putting a Clause in his Will Stating that he does not want a funeral. He said he doesn't want everyone to stop what they are doing to come Boo-Hoo Over his dead body. Your life will go on he always tells me.
He then ended the Convo by Saying "Don't Mourn my death, but celebrate my life and take a vacation with your inheritance".
