John Wall out eight weeks with stress fracture - CBSSports.com (http://www.cbssports.com/nba/blog/eye-on-basketball/20395756)
Wall is/was expected to make huge strides with full camp, and coming into his 3rd season. Team as well. Now Wall is out for first month or so of the season, and could hamper is one best quality......his speed

Another potential PG bites the dust. So hard to find explosive PGs made of steel like Westbrook.

I'm gonna get panned for this.. but I think Mario Chalmers is a top 5 PG now... he's never hurt, does everyhing asked of him, plays incredible defense.. and when needed.. puts up 25 point games.
This is just another reminder to me how valuable he is.

He's better than rondo rose cp3 deron Williams and Westbrook? And those are just the first five that popped into my head...Steve Nash...
Chalmers is a good player but let's be real here...
As for wall yeah that sucks but shouldn't be out for that long...

Maybe top 10-15 point guard but not top 5. I mean he has the leagues MVP and Dwade plus Bosh so that makes his life on the court easy.

For those who reacted the way I expected to my post....
1) Chalmers averages were HIGHER before Lebron.. so no his life isn't "easier".. I actually think he is suppressed by the talent on the Heat now.
2) We saw in the ECF that when he needs to take over.. he can, and will. He also has one of the most clutch shots in Basketball history under his belt (over D rose in college)
3) As a rookie he once got 9 steals in a game (Heat team record).. he's lethal defensively.. probably the best man to man defensive PG in the NBA right now

I've always thought he was underrated, but you're overrating the heck out of him. I'd say Rose, Westbrook, Paul, Williams, Rondo, Irving, Nash, Jennings, Curry and Wall are better than him, with numerous more I'd say are just as good if not better too.

1) he played more minutes per game, but if he did play the same minutes it would be about the same...he probably had the ball in his hand way less when lebron wasn't there - hence more inflated numbers
2) he played pretty good in the ECF but taking over might be a stretch...and having a clutch shot in college hardly makes you a top 5 position player in the league...
3) toney douglas hit 9 threes in a game (knicks team record)... enough said...
hes a good on ball defender but best on ball pg in the league?? he's not even close. i mean ...not even close...rondo? paul? rose? the heat play very good TEAM defense, which makes it easier for most players on the floor to do their job...
let me pose it to you this way would you take chalmers SERIOUSLY over any of these players?
Rose...Paul...D.Will...Parker...Nash...Westbrook...Irving...curry...rondo...lowry...conley...just to name a few
i mean chalmers is underrated, but imagine the heat with any of these players...

He's been good, but he hasn't proven that he's a top five point guard. To be an elite PG takes years, not one or two seasons.

It keeps getting worse for the Wizards and John wall???? No just the Wizards they cant catch a break
Why can't we EVER catch a break?? Outside of the Cavs, the Wizards is the most frustrating team to be a fan of in the NBA. Oh well, time to enter the AJ Price Era :(

haha remember when the knicks were going to be able to beat the bulls in the playoffs??
the knicks put egg on your face because you were unrealistically hyping up that team and now you want to act like they cant beat anyone because you don't want to get caught with your pants down again:)! its rather comical, because its pretty obvious you're playing up the self loathing knicks fan angle for that very reason...
the knicks will most definitely finish above 500 this year, and im taking bets on that if you'd like to take it....i was joking about prigioni obviously.

IF you do, you should sell them for nets tickets, because you obviously got a little hurt because you were on the train last year and then they got hurt and that ended their chances, and your dreams....
Never said bulls are not good . They are not a elite team. Knicks can beat them in the playoffs . I think indiana has improved a lot this year and can beat them .

like i said, every one of their starting five is in their prime. is that not true?
my seats are 103 row 9 (third row in section) seats 1 2 and 3.
im still calling BS on yours, but my boy sharay has seats in that section (114) so if you're there then i'll see ya because i go sit with him every now and then...do they even have row a's? i thought all the rows were numbers...they might up there but im not sure.

1) He almost never has the ball anymore.. Do you watch the heat at all? haha... he was the ball handler the first 2 years of his career.. since lebron came it's lebron or wade handling the ball. Chalmers has been turned into a "role starter" who focuses more on defense than anything when they are on the court.
2) As we saw in the ECF.. when Chalmers gets a chance to shoot.. he's just as good, if not better than a lot of the people you listed there. I've seen this guy play almost every game of his career on TV and in person... people's view of him is skewed by the team he plays for, and the fact that he's now the 4th or 5th option on offense. There's a reason the Heat stopped looking for a PG and cut Eddie House last year... Chalmers is that reason.
Can you tell me honestly if you had to pick a PG solely based on defense who you would take on that list OVER Chalmers? I know that's only half of the game.. but in Chalmers case, it's all we can judge him on.

I mis typed on the first point obviously lol my bad. I meant he had the ball in his hands way less after Lebron...which would make that statement make more sense- him having better numbers with the ball in his hands...
Cut Eddie house? He sucks...chalmers is better than him for sure lol...he didn't have to do anything but spot up and play d...kind of like a 2 guard...
And honestly there are half those guards at least I'd put ahead of him defensively. You wouldn't take chris paul over him defensively? Rose too. Conley too. Rondo too...you can't honestly say you wouldn't otherwise I hate to say but you're wearing black and red tinted glasses :)

Wow.
In no particular order...
Rose
Westbrook
Rondo
Williams
Paul
Nash
Lowry
Lawson
Jennings
Parker
Conley
Irving
Dragic
Lin
Curry
Rubio
Wall
Kidd
Holiday
All those guys are without question better then Chalmers. I would also say all these guys are on the same level or better then Chalmers...
Calderon
Felton
Kemba Walker
Devin Harris
Andre Miller
George Hill
Darren Collison
Stuckey
Jameer Nelson
Isiah Thomas
Jeff Teague
I would probably say Chalmers might be one of the worst 5 starting Pg's in the league. Playing with the big 3 makes life so much easier...
