Well I can say that it depends on what you CAN get vs the overall appeal of what the cards look like, and the overall offering from a set. One insert does not win the contest.

1. 1997-98 Skybox Premium - So many different hits at different ratios topped with 2 chances at a Star Ruby = Winner
2. 1997-98 Metal Universe -Best overall card design for parallels, and most insert sets. PMG > Ruby but Skybox > Metal with respect to overall inserts
3. 1997-98 Z-force Raves & Super Raves mixed with some very tough and cool looking MJ inserts.
4. 1997-98 EX 2001 -Not as many insets overall- but Acetate just does it when it comes to MJ.
4. 1997-98 Metal Championship. Like metal but the parallels are not as attractive. Nice assortment of inserts, but nothing groundbreaking.
5. 1998-99 Hoops - (My Sleeper.) Having a parallel /5 is huge. Bams and Slam Bams too. If you hit an MJ insert is is either a grand slam or a HBP.

Honorable Mentions 1997-98 Ultra and Flair Showcase and 1998-99 Fleer Tradition.

All of the above plus the 1997-98 Finest for the Embossed Refractors Gold, 1998-99 Molten Metal for the Titanium Fusions and 1996-97 Flair for the Legacies.

Appreciate the detailed response. What would be one of the safer ways to pick up boxes? The National?
