Guys,

Just interested in your opinion as to whether you think the following card would get a bgs 9.5 regrade if sent in to beckett...

It would be close, but I say no. the edges and one corner have imperfections

Not worth the risk, Beckett grades tougher. Even if you are convinced it would get a BGS 10 I would still bet it comes back a 9.5. Just not worth it.

thanks, i only need a 9.5...trying to complete a set. I may have to gamble and see what happens. I called beckett and they said to just write a note and tell them not to crack it if they cant give me a 9.5 so i guess i have just 30 bucks to lose

you can always submitted as a graded card review. If it meets a minimum grade, they crack it and put it in a bgs 9.5 case. If not, they leave it in a psa case with min grade not met.

PSA is tougher on the 86's...just look at all the weak MJ 9.5's (and the premium psa cards get for the set). That being said I think this specific 10 has a great shot of crossing.

In addition to BGS being tougher, one big problem preventing PSA 10 crossing into BGS 9.5 is that PSA 10 could be trimmed and might be rejected by BGS.

PSA grades trimmed cards.

But sometimes BGS is a way too strict sometimes, I have submitted pack pulled cards before that came back trimmed. Go figure

This goes both ways. I have crossed over from BGS to PSA and it came back trimmed. Also sent in pack fresh and came back trimmed. Go figure.

i dont quite understand why they would trim the card? or does "trimmed" mean something else?

They don't trim the card. He is saying that they are willing to grade a card trimmed by someone else. Both companies have done this, neither does so intentionally. Mistakes happen.

I would bet money bgs grades a higher percentage of trimmed cards.

But we are comparing percentages of percentages right?
