Is this another case of no base on card autos in another Topps product? I'm only finding variation and pink plus refractor autos of Luck.

I pulled this one but I haven't seen any others. Not sure how to put a price on it.

The same thing for Trent Richardson I have only seen 2 base autos, I pulled one of them but don't know if it's a ssp or not. Compared to other base chrome autos in assuming there are around 50 or less of these?? Any info would be great thanks

It's tough to know what's really out there. Topps has not been entirely honest about which parallels each of these players have. At first they said Luck and Griffin would have everything except military, but now it seems Luck has Pink with no Military, Griffin has Military with no Pink, and neither has a refractor auto /178.

If Rookie is hot, he's SP'd, drives more sales to product. Seems to be the same thing each year. I saw 3 cases opened, no luck auto, no RG3 auto. We're doing two more cases tonight. MAYBE I'll see one.. maybe.

He is definitely SSP. I would say these will bring more money than some of the parallels because it is the base RC and not many have been posted.

Shocking that even with numbered parallel autos that Topps would still SP the base autos of the big guys and leave them out of some of the parallels
Topps is a joke and doesn't care about the hobby but loves to make a few extra bucks at the expense of keeping the hobby alive and well

Any thoughts on what I should ask for it? I'm getting a lot of offers in the $250 range

Way too low for how SP'd these are looking
People will want to finish their full rainbows, and the base are looking like they might be the most SP'd outside like the red and gold autos

It is a for sure SSSP and would go for more if you let it ride via auction. I have witnessed six cases open with no Luck, Richardson or Griffin base autos. 2011 Topps Chrome gave better chances at hitting the big names since they were all equalling dispersed.
I bought into the 2012 Chrome hype before knowing Topps would screw us on the odds. Not looking forward to my three cases...

I pulled the 1st RGIII base auto out of a rack pack and sold it at auction the next day. This was the day retail hit shelves, last tuesday. Obviously if I would have known the base auto's were SPed I would have held onto it.

I have yet to see a Tannehill that's not a variation but I've seen at least one of everyone else

There is no truth to this whatsoever. ALL of the below players were SSP in 2011 Topps Chrome and were very difficult to hit:
Group A: Blaine Gabbert, Jake Locker, Mark Ingram, A.J. Green, Ryan Mallett, Ryan Williams, Julio Jones, Andy Dalton, Christian Ponder, Colin Kaepernick, Cam Newton.
This year with all the added auto parallels it is actually much easier to hit the big names if you are going strictly by pack odds. 2012 is a far superior product to 2011. Topps didn't screw us...they delivered a fantastic product.
I figured they'd do this, I am not shocked or surprised.
Demand drove the price of this stuff without much reason too. I like Chrome, but buying at 125% of MSRP is silly.

I'm not disputing the fact that this year's Chrome product isn't great but it doesn't mean that the Luck and Griffin base cards are more diffucult to pull then say Cam base auto last year.
Only one Andrew Luck base rookie on card auto on Ebay four days after release?

You said that Topps screwed us on odds and that you were not looking forward to opening your cases...so I took those words as evidence that you were disputing the quality of 2012 especially in that you were comparing it to the rate of Cam autos in 2011. I believe 2012 is an outstanding product and blows 2011 out of the water so I spoke my peace.
I do think after looking into it more carefully that the BASE autos of the big 3 are very scarce this year as you pointed out, but in general there are far more TOTAL autos of the big 3 than anything we saw last year so I am willing to let the base auto limitation slide knowing that my chances are real good of hitting a nice parallel auto. In 4 cases I hit one Luck auto and one RG3 auto. Both were parallels and quite frankly I'm happier with those than with base. But I can respect your opinion is the base autos mean that much to you.
