I believe I saw this card on an episode of Pawn Stars. It was in much better condition than yours but it turned out to be a reprint and not an original.

The picture on that link shows the back of the card, and it is most def. not blank. Leads me to believe this may be a reprint?

1914 Baltimore News #7 Babe Ruth - $500,000.00

Beckett Online

However in the set description it says

"These schedule/cards were issued during Babe Ruth's first season in professional baseball. The front has a picture of the Babe with his name and position in the lower left corner. The back has the 1914 Baltimore Orioles schedule. This list may be incomplete and any further additions are appreciated."

So judging by the back I would say fakie!

The border looks way to thin for it to be real (compared to the one in the link provided)

I do think its worth sending to psa for the hell of it.... its not like the owner couldnt of bought a real card.... he bought this recently....

One of the most Counterfitted Pre War baseball cards. A fake, guaranteed. Blank backed Fake "weathered" versions like yours started popping up in the late 70's and are the most common fake of this card. Sorry. If this guy is like you say he is I would expect this to happen more though...GOOD LUCK!!!

Absolutely fake.
The even wear on the corners while ignoring the sides is Bush league at best.
Same with the evenly dispersed brown 'rust bleed' lines throughout the card.

Cool reproduction though. Be neat to keep just to display in order to provoke some 'history of baseball cards-esque questions and conversation.'

Don't even bother sending that into bgs unless you like tossing money in the garbage.

Under the premise that it were 'real,' you'd have yourself the only legit blank backed Ruth rookie card in existence. Meaning you all can retire early.

Don't you love when these true rarities turn up, from people who deal with cards and don't know what they have. Lol

That is absolutely fake. I feel sorry for the guy that bought it. If you are spending that kind of money it really pays to do some research. For the most part when somebody is looking for high end cards like that, if it's not slabbed there is a reason.

I doubt it will fetch more than a quarter, lol I would like to see someone run a contest on the final winning bid though! Unreal.

one of those other "pawn" sport card shows (on spike?) just had this card and it was a reprint, though in nearly pristine condition. the guy at the gallery in baltimore had a real one to compare it to. Funny timing see thing pop up here now.

The card was on Ball Boys. I have it on my DVR. Had to stop watching the show because the show is scripted and absolutely sucks.

That's the one. I only watch it when I manage to pass by in while surfing. All these damn shows are scripted, but funny how they now have a fat dumb guy to try and be a Chumly type, and how the father and son are always fighting like rick and the old man, or the hardcore pawn family or the dad and son from OCC.
Jeez tv is so lame now.

Steve-O does have a funny A$$ show now.
Sorry a little OT :)!
