I've read retail Prizm will be out this week, but they didn't make blasters. Only 24 packs retail boxes (4 cards per pack).

Yup and I'm little upset they didn't make any blasters. I would most likely have bought a couple of blasters however I don't like just buying packs out of boxes. Just me.

Me too, I was planning on getting a blaster. I don't want to get a 24-pack retail box for $60 or something... so when I learned there would be no blasters I ordered a hobby box instead. With the high prices Golds /10 are fetching and the overall look of the cards, it was too tempting.

the retail situation will be stupid, because you can't control the pack searches/returners/scammers. and to drop $70 on a box with crap in it, is not a good plan. I can see people now buying and re-sealing them.

Sometimes the hits/refractors weigh more than a regular cards.

you can do that? They'll let you return them? That is crazy, never thought about that... That is why I hate buying single packs from Target or Walmart, If I ever get anything, I get blasters.

Actually this is a great idea. Especially for kids. Or family on a budget that would like to get some prizm packs. Business wise its an excellent idea of Panini.
For just plain investors I don't know....for pure hobby cards lovers its a plus.

Just saw some retail boxes available for sale on eBay, $65 / pop or something.

But didn't I hear Greens in retail would be 1:10 packs?

That makes 2.5 per box ... once retail goes live there will be 10,000 of them on eBay in no time!

Will be a nice looking set, but I don't think they'll be too pricey for you collectors which is nice!


I wonder if anyone is doing an entire rainbow master set(all the regular/green/gold refractors (prizms* :D )

He's an optimist who collects with his son. His perspective is different than most, if you had a kid that really liked the Panini Product, you'd probably like them too. No shame in that.

Panini's twitter just said they are going to have a box break gallery of a box of Prizm Retail shortly. I would think that shortly would mean sometime today still. Will be our first look at the Green Prizms

I think it helps the regular Prizm (refractor) I think there will be only 150-200 Prizm reg . Green ones will probably a be really high amount of them

it's unlikely they will print more retail than hobby and regular prizms seem to be averaging > 2 per box in hobby, so there will almost certainly be less greens made than regular prizms. possibly WAY less, potentially < 50 of each.

in addition because a higher percentage of retail is broken by the general public rather than people breaking specifically to sell on ebay, a smaller percentage of the print run of retail parallels tends to hit ebay.

in fact a green of any individual player will be VERY hard to come by. it wouldn't surprise me if key names end up going for 50%+ the value of golds.

no disrespect but this is a misconception. there are a few exceptions, but MOST retail print runs are smaller than hobby. it might not seem that way because the demand for retail is way less than hobby, but it absolutely is the case.

I noticed this as well. I picked one up one ebay 2 nights ago but surely thought they would be selling as fast the golds. Do you guys think the greens will have value compared to the gold prizms?

my retail distrubuter was allocated on this, which is unheard of. if you're waiting for the market to be flooded you might be in for a long wait.

don't know what you mean by decent prices, but greens of key names will always be harder to find and selling for more than regular prizms. yeah $200 for a kobe is probably too much, but $75-100 likely is not.

Thanks for the feedback thus far. I picked up a Tim Duncan in hopes the values increase and I can trade it for a different Spurs card. I like the cards but because I just started collecting about a year ago I don't "long" for the cards like topps chrome etc....

Seeing the prices on some of golds is shocking, to me anyways. I've also checked the walmarts and targets and still haven't seen retail yet.

distributer cost is $36, not mine. i wish i could buy it for that.

suggested (marked) price is double cost on most retail. $19.95 blasters cost $10 etc.

I don't remember the exact wording...should've paid better attention. Anyway, the packs themselves only mention Prizm Green. I did pull a green Ray Allen...so I'm guessing you're right.
