Could the Utah Jazz be the first team to pull off a big trade this season?
ESPN.com's Chad Ford singled out Utah when asked that very question in his chat session today.
One possible suitor that matches up well with what the Jazz have to offer (bigs) and what they need (wings) is Philadelphia. Come some sort of package that involves Paul Millsap or Al Jefferson and Enes Kanter for Evan Turner and Thaddeus Young. It'd be a lot to give up for Utah, but they'd get two young athletes on long-term deals back in return.
Here's more from Ford.
"Everyone is looking at the Jazz right now. Paul Millsap and Al Jefferson could really help a veteran team. They are in the last year of their contracts. The Jazz want to clear more time for Derrick Favors. They have all the pieces to make a big deal with someone. Clearly the Lakers are looking in the mirror right now and trying to upgrade their athleticism/defense."
I understand the Millsap and Jefferson trade, not ready to see the big Turk go. How's Turner playing this year? Whats your thought on the trade, Winner Loser?

I'm a Sixers fan and I'm not ready to give up on Evan Turner yet. I think Evan and Jrue should be untouchable.

Alot for Utah to give up? I wouldn't do it as a Sixers fan if it was BOTH Milsap and Jefferson.
I'd be pissed if I was a Sixers fan giving up Young and Turner for any combination of those guys. Those guys don't put you over the top...and neither of them is worth bringing back next year as Free Agents...Jefferson is ridiculously overpaid and Milsap isn't a star.
So Philly would rent those guys for a year, not win, and then hope they can sign someone to replace Young/Turner who are both under decent contracts going forward...
Makes sense.
Maybe it's just me. Turner and Young are too young and talented to give away for rental players other then Kanter - who I wouldn't want over Young/Turner.

Jefferson is a FA after this year so hes a goner one way or the other, think Milsap is too.
Makes sense for Utah

That’s correct, there are huge incentives for them if they would want to stay with the Sixers (more money)

Dont forget Utah has Golden States draft pick to sweetin deals. If Utah wasnt Utah and players wanted to go there, they could make some big moves in the offseason.

Man what a terrible trade for the Sixers. Turner is coming good this season and Young has always been a great player to have coming off the bench. I agree the Sixers need an upgrade at the PF but I wouldn't be giving up those guys to get it.
Just so you know I am a Bulls fan so no bias here :D

So I'm guessing the lineup would look like this:
Jazz
PG - Mo Williams - Randy Foye
SG - Evan Turner - Gordon Hayward
SF - Thaddeus Young - Marvin Williams
PF - Paul Millsap/Derrick Favors - DeMarre Carroll
C - Al Jefferson/Derrick Favors - Jeremy Evans
I like the Jazz bench over the 76ers, cause Foye/Hayward/Williams pretty solid for the 2 unit
76ers
PG - Jrue Holiday - Maalik Wayns
SG - Jason Richardson - Damien Wilkins
SF - Dorrell Wright/Nick Young - Wright/Young
PF - Paul Millsap/Al Jefferson - Lavoy Allen
C - Enes Kanter - Spencer Hawes
The 76ers second unit looks really weak IMO.
All in all who knows what the coaches are gonna do, they might go big or small.

People who don't bandwagon care man.. I'm perfectly happy cheering for a team that hasn't won a championship. Gotta stay with the same horse through it all. #annoying

I would rather have Evan Turner and Thaddeus Young!

Being diehard Jazz fan I do not like giving up Kanter, he has really impressed me and still super young. Millsap and Jefferson are both FA after this year, I feel one of them comes back not both so if they can trade one of them for young talent it's worth it.

Maybe I am not watching Turner as much as everyone else, but whats so special? Seems like hes been a pretty average #2 pick, you would rather have him than a rebounding machine like Jefferson or Milsap? Especially if Bynum is RIP?
