Howard Not shooting FTs - Check
Gasol - Check
Nash Injured - Check
Crowd booing their own team - Next
1-9 when Kobe scores 30 pts. Obviously there is your problem there.
Run the OFFENSE through Howard! :)!

They did keep giving the ball to Howard from 1st to 3rd quarter in low post. But Howard keeps "waiting" for double team to kick out. It is like he wants to play passing more than attacking the basket.
And besides, it is not like he HAS to kick out right at the second the double team. He can hold the ball and pass a second later, OR spin base line for layup (Shaq does it all the time) OR, even just drive through 2 defenders for and-one.

I don't blame Kobe for them losing. It's a combination of things. Wrong coaching hire. They should have got Phil or Jerry Sloan.
Gasol so far can't function in Dantoni's system. He won't really adapt it for his players. It just stays the same.
They are horrible in transition defense. Artist is a shell of himself defensively. Jamison struggles guarding SF or PF spot.

Yeah watching the Lakers celebrate each basket while the Jazz flew down and scored on every Laker made basket. The Lakers are too slow to compete with faster teams.
They need a Verajao or Kenneth Faried, and I think Hill brings that. He just needs to get more playing time and less foul trouble.

Just got back for that amazing game! Jazz play TEAM basketball! I was listening to the radio station on the way home and Dwight said they are still getting used to each other, there's no way we could mesh this fast.... Really? Cause the Jazz had 3 starters that weren't on our team last year. Bottom line is the moral is low on the lakers.. Except for that loser cholo on the lakers bench. He's the most annoying player in the nba. Who is he? He waives his towel around and jumps and throws his arms yet never plays.. Alright I'm still pumped about the game.

The Kobe/Howard/MWP is one of the best individual player 3-man groups of any time in the league this year ... hands down.
You have the 2nd best player to ever play the game, a 7-foot freak athlete beast, and one of the top 5 best defensive experts in the league, who is also shooting lights out this year.
OFFENSE, REBOUNDING, DEFENSE ... check!
butttt ....
TEAM > INDIVIDUAL
The Lakers don't have a 'team' feel ... other teams play together, the way they should play. Plus, for all of Dwight's cockiness ... he really should be shooting 65%+ on FTs...

I am not a big Kobe fan but if he starts scoring less then who is going to pick up the slack. MWP? Duhon? Meeks? I don't think so.
Gasol is old and big men age faster than guards in this league. Howard is not going to carry an offense so who do you suggest be the primary scorer?

Team chemistry.
Even if one integrates the best of every part, the whole machine may fail to function as one. The LA complex believes that adding the highest star power will yield success.
Name the star power movies that lacked substance and failed.

I've only watched them play 6-7 this season so far. They were impressive against the Nuggets on a friday night game, but the other games they just don't play well as a team right now. I'm not too worried yet but you have to think that the Lakers might end up only being the 4 seed, maybe even lower. Hope they can get it together. And playing through Howard isn't the answer.

You see how happy D12 and his teammates were after he hit the 3 pointer? That's how stupid the team is now. 3 pointer on blowout lead. And yet, they don't think how many games they lost.

Prior to their first championship it happened regularly. It was actually the primary reason they didn't win earlier.

I kind of agree.
As to his game, clearly he's a freak athletically, but honestly, he doesn't have much basketball sense. I can't tell you how many time he gets the ball in the post tries rolling to the basket and gets stripped because brings the ball so low. He's got to learn to keep the ball up high. Seems like common sense, but he rarely does it

The year Howard and the Magic got to the finals was his best year. Teams always doubled him even though that isn't needed most the time. He would pass the ball back out and they would rotate the ball quickly until they found the me guy. Lewis,Hedo, and Nelson were all at there primes..

When kobe takes so many shots it makes the rest of the team stagnant!
If you watch the game they got wide open drives to the lane, but what do they do? Pass it to Kobe. 42 pts 5 TOs 2 Assists? He basically gave back points on turnovers
On a bad team someone has to do the scoring, its the NBA
When the Lakers ran some offense through Howard they starting cutting into the lead.
Its a fact that the lakers lost 90% of the time when he shoots over 20 times a game.
Thats the problem! Lakers need to see that their stupid system isnt working! Quit crying about it and fix it. Cavs have a better system? LOL

i don't think d'antoni gets fired this year...definitely not before he gets a long run with nash. but i think that was a horrible coaching choice for the lakers, he is bad for the same reason brown was bad. he has ONE way of doing things, he can't adapt his coaching style to get the most out of the players he has. im sorry, but he's just not a good head coach. he's not the only issue there obviously, as he was only brought in because they have nash.
i didn't want to post in this thread because its obviously meant to get under lakers fans skin *see tristans other threads* but my disdain for mike dantoni led me to post lol...

When kobe takes so many shots it makes the rest of the team stagnant!
If you watch the game they got wide open drives to the lane, but what do they do? Pass it to Kobe. 42 pts 5 TOs 2 Assists? He basically gave back points on turnovers

Actually it was the poor shooting of the Cavs, in the 3rd they went 1-12 at one point. Missing wide open shots and layups
But Kyrie carved them like a thanksgiving Turkey

I don't get you chief.
You throw out a stat of 13-0 when Kobe shoots under 20.
I do 5 minutes of research and tell you it's not true the record is 9-4, and then you say you found it online.
I'm sure you can find lots of made up stats online chief! Maybe you should start your own website with made up stats, that way you can cite a website when someone calls you

Bro relax, you honestly need to open that other eye of yours.
Its a mistake on one stat, get over it!
Go do some detective work and find out where I posted blotched stats.
Talk basketball and not stupid remarks on a blotched stat, find something worthy to say instead of preaching the same "Oh i found out it was 4-9 and not 13-0, I won, I won, I won"

Of course they did, the Cavs won...
But you said Dwight got the Lakers back in it haha
In fact, I don't think Dwight made a FG in the 4th, and just 1 FG in the 3rd.
He did play pretty good on the boards though.

Lakers have a lot bigger problems than Kobe. Even though every player and coach deserves some blame. Hre are my five biggest issues with the lakers.
1. Transition defense. With smash coming back this won't get any better.
2. Turnovers. When they make turnovers in the half court it lets the other team run. Hopefully Nash can help with this. I think he will.
3. Poor FT shooing especially Howard.
4. Not buying into Dantoni's system. They are playing too much Iso especiall Kobe and straight post ups. Has this ever been part of the system at previous stops in Dantoni's career? No. Nash should help with this as well if others buy into it.
5. How can Pau and Howard play together in this system? It seems clear thus far Dantoni isn't changing his system for this roster

lakers got problems, but kobe's offense isn't one of them. they would be competing with the wizards for worst record in the nba without him.
bottom line is the losses are a result of the most horrible, distgusting, rancid, vomit inducing, dogsh!t defense i have ever seen a nba team play bar none. also the turnovers are killing them too, but defense is this teams number one problem, and with the personnel they have i don't see anyway to cure it or improve it. this team just has too many old washed up players to play consistent solid defense. at least when nash comes back i expect the turnover problem to be cut in half almost immediately with him handling the ball almost exclusively. it will also cut down on kobe hero ball, which as much as i am a kobe fan i hate kobe iso's especially at this point in his career.
as far as dwight my patience is quickly wearing thin. i was never super gung ho about getting him, but was excited. i don't know if he is still hurting and not saying anything, but 3 months in i expect his conditioning to be there by now. it just looks like he isn't into playing with this team and looks like he is going through the motions. i'm not convinced he really wants to be a laker. i don't think he wants the pressure of carrying the ridiculous big man mantle that the lakers have established, i'm pretty sure he is not even capable of wearing any of these big mans jocks.
being a die hard laker fan it's hard to watch, but i just keep watching and hoping something will click and it will get better. hopefully nash can fix a lot but i'm not sure. it's damn frustrating though.
also when is kyrie's contract up? because the busses need to line up the brinks trucks in front of his house to get him. i would love to see that guy in purple and gold.

I agree with a lot of the points you made.
Howard isn't a huge offensive threat which this team needs in this system because Pau is being rendered almost useless when playing. When Nash comes back it will help with some things, but not all.
Nash will help with cutting turnovers and running Dantoni's plays. He certainly won't help on the defensive end.
Arrest and Kobe are not the defenses they were before due to age. In the three lakers I watched this year Artest is often caught watching the ball and gets beat back door.
I think Kobe for sure does his fair share of the offense. As you can see tonight in an efficient effort. He is at fault for a good bit of the Lakers turnovers. The team as a whole makes lazy turnovers like Bryant's post past to Howard that was thrown like it was to a 7th grader. Bryant also doesn't seem to be interested in running Dantoni's sets. A lot of ISO
They need Nash to get back in a hurry because right how they have the worst two PG combo in the NBA.
Every player is at fault, must to varying degrees
