Went to Panini Site this AM... Says the release date is now 1/23...

Figures.... They have been releasing a product a week...

It looks like there are no 1/1 Championship or Front Row Tix this year either.

The retro design is cool but a drop off from last year to me...

Looks like well all be waiting 3 more weeks to find out if our Nick Toon AU is short printed to 3 and worth 8 million dollars.....

I totally agree and maybe they will but I find it funny that they make a point to talk about 1/1 plates and goldens but not front row or champ. I know for a fact their flyer last year said something about front rows....

Think Contenders have been pushed back the past 2 years, but honestly I'm in agreement. Postpone it to get rid of the redemptions. Helps everyone in the hobby (maybe minus flippers if it gets pushed back to far), but no redemptions means that the box makes the box opener happy (you do get all your cards minus any production flaws), but for hobby shops they're not suck with products that may or may not have expired redemption cards.

Did anyone ever hear if the 1/1 no plates are going to be available. The sell sheet hasnt changed and havent heard. It would be a bid disappointment if no front row or championship tix.... last year the sell sheet clearly mentioned them....

Well, Panini removed foil font from Prestige and released a full range of parallels in Score without serial numbering, so nothing would surprise me. They have a knack for screwing up products that existed before they took over.

Contenders has been a mid-February release the last 2 years and it looks like this year will be no different.

It's always originally scheduled for an early January release, but gets delayed about 6 weeks.

Its definitely not a surprise but why do they continuosly do the same thing? I do remember thinking... Yeah Right... when I saw the original release date.

Yeah you'd think they would learn by now.

Just be reasonable and shoot for a Feb release from the start. Why delay the product each year and piss people off?
