For some reason it doesn't seem to get much attention, but I disagree with the rule completely. Not every Pass Interference situation would've resulted in a sure-fire catch if not for the penalty...I bring this up a day after the Jets got like a 50-yard Pass Interference call leading to their final go-ahead touchdown before surrendering the lead late. I think it should be 15 yards, or there should be a maximum (say 20-25 yards).

The NFL rule is a much better deterrent to stop pass interference from happening than the college rule. If it were only a 15 yard penalty, any corner that got beat would just tackle the WR while the ball was in the air to prevent any chance of a long passing play or TD.

You think that's worth possibly making the difference between a team possibly being able to win a game due to a penalty like that?

Not as bad as my Pats getting beat for a freaking TAUNTING call:(

Yes, I do. The rules are clear. Everyone knows them. Play by them or be penalized.

How many times have we heard an announcer say, "that was a good penalty because it saved a touchdown"? If the pass interference rule was only 15 yards in the NFL, those guys would be tackling offensive players all the time that were about to burn them.

Good teams overcome adversity.

Sorry. LOL. This is what my high school football coach taught us when we disagreed with a call during and after a game.

You also have to consider all the pass interference calls that are missed. Just like there is holding on every play and it isn't always seen.:)!
