I thought it would be interesting to get some input on a variety boxes that provide the best (quality, number) of hits (Autos, Game-Used, RC's, Low-serial) for those on a budget. Let's say someone has $150-$200 to spend. Boxes can be anything from 2010-2012 (or even older provided you can still buy the box)

Some of my personal favorites:

2010 Sweet Spot $55 (6 Autos per box)
2010 Plates and patches $75 (4 hits per box)
2011 Sweet Spot $47 (4 Autos (2 Helmets) per box)
2011 Timeless Treasures $43 (3 Hits per box)
2011 Limited $69 (4 hits)

Also some of the Certified are pretty good. Thoughts? Input?

it's tough, because a lot of the "more hit" boxes just flush you with scrub autos or jerseys.

You must be talking about Momentum ;-)

2011 Timeless Treasures is a horrible product even at $43. To think that MAPP was $100 says alot about Panini in the football market as well.

sure. but also contenders comes to mind. Some boxes have 6 autos in past years, but you still get garbage autos. I'll take 2-3 quality hits over 6 crappy ones.

Cruiser I must have had a better experience. Bought 2 boxes and got a mark Ingram leather auto in one and a Deion Sanders auto in the other.

leaf best of_______________
has a better chance of making a return than any of those

Leaf best of is $200 for 2 hits. Lets say you pull a $60 card. You are far from breaking even and you are left with 2 cards.

Box pricing is fluid, the price of a box will almost always adjust itself so the average return is around -35%.

2012 elite or prestige come to mind, certified, rookies and stars. basically anything but topps excluding chrome and contenders

I really like 2012 Elite. I've seen about 12 breaks and would only consider 1 of those boxes as terrible.

2008 Press Pass Legends--I believe you 5 autos per box--a great auto checklist/awesome looking cards/variety of serial #'d autos and cards/good chance of a pretty decent hit.

Of course, college unis are not for everyone.
